Once upon a time, Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards‘ marriage made headlines for all the wrong reasons. However, lately they seem to be finding themselves in an oddly tender place. And Charlie appears to be here for it, at least in some ways.
Charlie Sheen recently sat down to chat with Bill Maher on his Club Random podcast. The Major League star soon found himself opening up about many things, including where he and his ex-wife, Denise Richards, stand today.
During the podcast, Charlie and Bill discussed everything from baseball to UFOs, but things took a surprising turn when Denise Richards’ name came up. Maher mentioned how moved Denise had been in the Netflix documentary “aka Charlie Sheen.”
Especially where she broke down describing her ex as “not at all what people think.” Sheen gave a smirky, humble smile, stating that it was “nice to hear.”
However, TMZ reports that when Bill pointed out that Denise “obviously still loves you,” Charlie Sheen didn’t or couldn’t deny it. But he also didn’t come right out and confirm it. In true Charlie, he let his actions potentially act as a Sheen-ish confession.
Bill Maher gave some words of wisdom to think about, saying, after all, “Love is eternal. Passion is often not.”
Old Flames and Softer Feelings Develop Between Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen
Back in the day, Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen’s marriage famously imploded in 2006 after four years, two daughters, and one insane headline after another. Denise once called the relationship “toxic,” largely due to Charlie’s drug use and wild behavior. But it seems hindsight and perhaps Charlie’s long journey to sobriety have seemingly rewritten some of that story.
Lately, Denise finds herself back in the middle of explosive divorce drama. Her world has been anything but calm. Denise’s ongoing, messy divorce from Aaron Phypers has left her emotionally raw. In court footage, the Wild Things‘ star even reflected that things with Charlie, as bad as they were, “never hit below the belt.”
What does that say when your ex-husband looks like the good guy compared to your current one? According to multiple media reports, some sources say Denise has leaned on Charlie for emotional support as she navigates her divorce chaos.
The two share daughters, Sam and Lola, and despite their rocky past, they’ve somehow built an unexpected friendship. Or maybe something more familiar. Still, with Charlie recently revealing he’s been seeing a man, fans can’t help but wonder, should the opportunity arise, would Charlie and Denise ever reunite romantically?
It is no secret that celebrity fans love a good Hollywood couple reunion. However, a Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards romantic reboot might just be too wild, even for them. Even so, it’s nice to see these two finally finding peace. After all, in Charlie Sheen’s never say never, world, anything is possible. So only time will tell, since Charlie won’t.
