Stranger Things showrunners were accused of hurling verbal abuse at crew members while on set. Peyton Brown, who will not be joining season 3, took to Instagram to accuse the Duffer brothers, Matt and Ross Duffer, of insulting and threatening women on set.
The Instagram post highlighted that she will not be returning to the set because of the abuse these two brothers are claimed to have done. Brown told her followers that if she was ever in a situation ‘to say something’ she would and that ‘TIME IS UP’. She later confirmed to a commenter that it was indeed the Duffer brothers. Later on, she deleted the comment and reworded the accused to someone in higher power.
However, Netflix has since commented on the allegation saying the following:
“We looked into the concern that was raised when we heard of the allegation on Friday, and found no wrongdoing. Maintaining a safe, respectful atmosphere on set is important to us, and we know it is to the Duffer Brothers as well.”
The brothers have also issued a statement apologising for any ‘tempers that may have flared’, but deny any allegation of not treating everyone on set fairly. The statement says:
“We are deeply upset to learn that someone felt uncomfortable on our set. Due to the high-stress nature of production, tempers occasionally get frayed, and for that, we apologize. However, we think it is important not to mischaracterize our set, where we believe strongly in treating everyone fairly regardless of gender, orientation, race, religion, or anything else. We remain totally committed to providing a safe and collaborative working environment for everyone on our productions.”
On the same day as the allegation came out, The Stranger Things writers took to Twitter to post their opinion on the matter as shown below.

A few hours ago Brown responded to the statements from Netflix and the Duffer brothers with another Instagram post including a comment from a Script Supervisor that says the allegations were true and she went through the experience herself. The Supervisor’s name is yet to be revealed.
