People always come up with creative costume ideas for Halloween, but some definitely cross the line. Every year, I think I’ve seen it all, and every year, I’m proven wrong. Many schools host Halloween celebrations where kids can dress up and have fun, and you’d expect that since these events take place at school, the costumes would be age-appropriate.
Well, that wasn’t the case at one elementary school in California. Parents and staff were left stunned after a young boy showed up dressed as a condom. Yes, you read that right, a condom costume at an elementary school.
Two women at the California elementary school started filming as soon as the boy arrived wearing the condom costume. The outfit even had a phrase printed on it that read, “No glove, no love.” Absolutely insane. The video then showed a security guard at the school who looked just as shocked as the women filming. He even pulled his glasses down in disbelief.
Thankfully, someone stepped in. According to the person who posted the video, the boy “didn’t last long,” which likely means the staff asked him to leave because of what he was wearing. Still, one question remains how did his parents ever let him walk out of the house in that costume?
People Reacting to the California Boy’s Condom Costume
It is safe to say that people were absolutely shocked at the California boy’s costume. It’s not every day that you see a kid wearing such a thing. Some assumed that the boy’s mother wasn’t the one behind what he was wearing. This is why one person wrote, “It was his dads idea 100%.” Another person wrote how their own school would have reacted if they showed up wearing this. “They would’ve sent us home immediately if the teachers saw that,” they said. Others took the matter seriously especially since it was a child wearing this. “That’s not appropriate,” one comment read. Someone else said, “This is awful.” Another viewer wrote, “That should NOT be allowed I’m not even exaggerating that’s not funny to display around children.”
Many people were disturbed after seeing the California boy’s costume. One woman wrote, “That shouldn’t be at a middle school. Y’all are happy that children who aren’t even teenagers are doing stuff like this? I’m not even a mother, and it doesn’t take a genius to know this is disturbing.”
However, not everyone agreed. Some argued that it was educational and harmless. “I’d rather a middle schooler know about it and be educated on what it is, so that when the time comes, he’s more likely to use one. Sheltering your children doesn’t save them from anything. Statistics show the sheltered kids are the ones more likely to do the things you’re worried about,” one commenter said.
There’s a difference, though, between teaching kids about condoms and letting them wear a condom costume for Halloween.
