Kentucky Woman Conducts Social Experiment Calling Churches for Baby Formula and the Results Are Shocking: ‘They Failed the Test’

I’m proud of those who offered to help

The internet could be useful a lot of times, especially when people use it for good. One example that is happening currently is that of a Kentucky woman. The woman, named Nikalie, is conducting a social experiment where she calls churches to ask them for baby formula. She pretends to be a mom and even plays an audio of a baby crying to convince them. After she gets their response, she informs them that this was a social experiment. This interesting series has been going viral on TikTok as people were left shocked by the results. They even started nominating places and their own churches to see if they would help a “mom” with a starving two-month-old baby.

Unfortunately, the social experiment conducted by the Kentucky woman had a lot of disappointing results. So far, 27 churches have refused to offer help. There was one church, which is Lakewood Church in Texas, that told her they could put in a request for her. It could take days or even weeks for her to find out whether her request was approved, though. So they would leave a baby or someone in need on their own for weeks because of this process. There were also three churches that sent the Kentucky woman to voicemail. On the other hand, nine places agreed to help.

After seeing the number of churches that refused to help, people started recommending other places of worship. For example, the woman called a mosque and they agreed to help. She also called a Buddhist Temple and they agreed to help as well. Aside from places of worship, there was a suggestion of calling an anti-abortion clinic. This ended with the clinic also agreeing to help. The series isn’t over yet, but the results are definitely shocking and could make anyone sad. The number of those refusing is a lot more than those who are actually willing to help. Unfortunately, since the series is going viral, some places could end up pretending to offer help just so they won’t get criticized. So far, the results are authentic. Yet, they are mostly disappointing.

Those Who Refused to Help the Kentucky Woman

There are several examples of churches that didn’t help Nikalie and one of them is First Baptist Church in Corbin, Kentucky. The lady who answered said, “No, we don’t typically have baby goods here and certainly not formula that I’m aware of in our food pantry.” Nikalie then asked them if they could get the baby formula and she would pick it up, and the woman immediately told her no. When Nikalie informed her that this was a social experiment, the woman tried to justify her refusal. She said that their church already feeds homeless people. They don’t feed starving children though.

Nikalie then called a MAGA church named Abundant Church in Texas. The woman who answered told her that the food pantry is only open on Sundays. She also said that she doesn’t know if they have any baby formula at the moment. When Nikalie asked her if they could get it for her, she told her that they only have food for old people. When she asked her if they were a pro-life church, she refused to answer and told her she could get her information by asking a pastor. Nikalie then informed her that it was a social experiment, and she hung up on her. Then there was Church in the Wind in Denver, Colorado, and this one was weird. The man who answered basically blamed Biden for not having such resources.

Places That Actually Helped

Thankfully, there were good examples of places that agreed to help Nikalie. One of them is Heritage Hope Church of God in Kentucky. The man who answered was an example that there were still good people out there. He immediately agreed and asked her what kind she needed and if it had any flavors. He even offered to get somebody to get it for her. When she told him it was an experiment, he kept telling her how he felt bad that people at his church might feel embarrassed to ask him for help. This is how everyone should react.

Nikalie also called a mosque called the Islamic Center of Charlotte, and people were impressed with how they acted. A man answered and he agreed to help her. He started asking her questions as well about what kind of formula she needed. Since she told him that she lived 10 minutes away from them, he told her that she could come over and the formula would be ready. At the time of the call, the center had one review, and it was a negative one, so they only had one star. Now, hundreds of people rushed to leave positive ones. Nikalie later called them again and the man who answered thanked her for doing such an experiment. “Thank you for doing what you’re doing,” he said.

People Reacting to the Kentucky Woman’s Social Experiment

The Kentucky woman’s social experiment quickly went viral and people had a lot to say. Since most churches refused to help, a lot of people were disappointed. This made one person write, “They failed.. They failed the test.. They’re trying to make excuses as to why they didn’t help.” Another person said, “if you continue to tell them it’s a social experiment, please try to say the words ‘you failed the test.’ Let them sit with the truth and the weight of that.” Someone else commented on how a lot of churches are against abortion and yet refuse to help babies. “But they’ll shame a woman for getting an abortion. Claiming it’s ‘for the children’. But they don’t want to help the actual children here,” they added. A lot of people even believed that those who refused should start paying taxes.

There were also positive comments left under the videos of the places that accepted to help. Many of them were left on the video of Heritage Hope Church of God in Kentucky. “That’s my dad. This is truly who he is. Man of integrity, kindness, grace, mercy, love, giving and faith,” one woman wrote. His granddaughter also commented, “That’s my grandpa‼ He is the best. Thank you so much for showing the world just how amazing he is!” People were also pleased with how the Islamic Center responded which made a lot of them donate. “Donated to their mosque,” one TikTok user admitted. Hopefully, there will be a lot more good examples by the time this experiment is over.
