Photos of the ex-royals with Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian circulated on the internet, which stirred up quite the controversy. But now, if you check either Jenner’s or Kardashian’s Instagram feed, the existence of Harry and Meghan at the party has been erased.
To be fair, Meghan and Harry’s presence at Kris Jenner’s party was gaining attention, but not in a good way. Critics accused the Sussexes of sneaking into the party, while many believed Meghan had somehow gotten her team to do some magical PR to get her into the big celebrity party. Whatever the case, much of the internet was more or less enraged that the ex-royals were there, and Meghan didn’t really help her case of presenting herself as a professional mogul after photobombing someone’s photoshoot. Yet, Kardashian and Jenner still posted their photos with the Sussexes, albeit with an expiration date.
This silent removal of Harry and Meghan’s photos has left many confused but also quite entertained. Some even found the situation quite amusing. “The shade. Oh the shade. Worse than if Kim had never posted a picture at all. No skims for you, Megan,” joked one Redditor. “This is kind of pathetic. We all know they were there,: adds another. Plenty of people criticized Kardashian and Jenner for the decision, considering how the entire internet knew that the Sussexes were at the party. As one user puts it, “It can still be easily found with a simple google search. Their PR team trying to cover it up is actually so pathetic.“
Sussex fans theorize that perhaps Harry and Meghan requested the photos to be taken down, but many think that’s not the case, considering Meghan’s behavior at the party. Photobombing is one thing, but plenty pointed out and shamed the Duchess for allegedly touching Kris Jenner’s back without permission. “This isn’t the first or last time we’ve seen the Sussexes shmoozing the ultra wealthy,” says a user. Whatever the theorycrafters believe could be a mystery forever, seeing how neither Jenner nor Kardashian has provided comment to multiple outlets requesting more information on why the Sussexes were deleted.
In the end, we all know Harry and Meghan were there. Yet this move might have backfired for the Kardashians regarding their ‘quiet removal’ decision. But for the Sussexes, it’s a win-win. They got to attend a first-class A-lister party, and now have plenty of people talking about them with the deletion of their photos.
