A lot of heartbreaking situations have been occurring around the country, and folks who are sworn to protect us are often doing anything but. The Broadview ICE detention center is one of the worst detention centers out there, and someone spotted the Illinois State Police exchanging words with ICE and even shaking their hands. Another reason in a long line of many to avoid trusting any of the authority in this country.
A Redditor shared the short clip on the Illinois subreddit, where we can observe a group of Illinois State Police officers shaking hands with ICE agents. In truth, this shouldn’t be a big deal for many. It is just a group of people shaking hands and not doing anything remotely wrong. However, what’s hurtful is the fact that seeing the State Police in league with ICE really makes us think that we can’t trust anyone right now.
As you know, ICE is still running rampant across the country, using aggressive tactics to detain people. However, some citizens still look for the police departments to help them, especially in these chaotic times. Now, by seeing this, a lot of citizens in Illinois feel as if the State Police betrayed them.
The worst thing about this is that this short clip comes from inside the Broadview ICE Center. For the unaware, it is one of the worst facilities in the country, where a lot of people are suffering from inhumane treatment. Many even believe that the State Police and ICE are now working together to wrongfully arrest people around the state.
Even if it was just a short video, it was impactful enough to rile up some Redditors who voiced their concerns about the situation.

While short, the clip was really impactful and heartbreaking for some. Previously, we only had to watch out for unmarked vehicles and masked men. Now, we’ll have to look closely at State Police troopers because they might snatch you next.
