In what may not be the brightest moment someone can have, a man in Orange County, California, was immediately arrested after he shoved a cameraman. Sheriff’s deputies were already there in the vicinity of the altercation, displaying the poor judgment of the angry fellow.
The incident took place outside a United States Post Office in Dana Point, California. The meltdown was recorded and posted by user karenchaosvideos, which shows an already fed-up man arguing with the cameraman. Bizarrely, from the get-go, the man is aware that police officers are right next to them.
“Get the [expletive] out of here,” the foul-mouthed man said. “Yeah, I know there’s cops here, man. No one wants you filming them.”
Despite being in front of law enforcement agents and outside a government agency, the man grabbed the cameraman’s camera and shoved it. Then, he walked towards the man filming the outburst and once again decided to shove his equipment. Denying he had assaulted the cameraman, the angry man said he just touched his camera, which can also constitute assault or battery.
One Orange County deputy immediately walked over to the angry man and placed him under arrest. He then moves the man to a car and tries to reason with him to defuse the situation. The deputy then told the cameramen, “I know you’re doing your thing. Stand by, don’t get in our way, ok?“
Angry Man Mocked, Reactions
Many users laughed at the stupidity of the situation, praising the deputy’s quick action and composure and mocking the angry California man for his outburst in front of cops.
“In front of cops? Dude is not that smart,” one user said. Another person commented, “You can see the wave of regret wash over him.” A third one added, “And all of a sudden, the tough guy gets humbled and starts wanting to make plea deals there on the side with the cops.”
The outcome of the incident is unknown. However, it is safe to say that, if you’re going to act in such a reckless way (which you shouldn’t), you might think about it twice before doing so in front of the people who can put you behind bars.
