We often joke about some midwestern region drivers being among the worst in the country, but a few in New Jersey might be giving them a run for their money. Recently, we’ve seen many careless people on the streets endangering others while behind the wheel, and sadly, it seems they are a trouble we can’t get rid of. To give you an example, one driver in New Jersey thought it would be a good idea to reverse their vehicle on a highway just so they wouldn’t miss their exit.
A Redditor shared a video that would make every sane driver’s teeth grind. In the clip, taken from the inside of what seems to be a truck, you can see a car abruptly stopping at a highway leading to the Bayonne Bridge in New Jersey. Apparently, the driver missed their exit and took the wrong road. Instead of having some common sense and continuing driving until they were able to grab another exit, they decided to do the unthinkable.
The driver started reversing their car on the busy road, stalling the aforementioned truck, and probably a few other vehicles. You can even see how she backs up dangerously close to the road barrier. During this, the one in the truck keeps honking the horn, hoping for the woman to stop reversing. Unfortunately, this doesn’t happen, as the driver continues to move backward to reach the other road.
What makes the video truly face-palming is that she not only ignores the mess she created but also never apologizes to the people she inconvenienced. Fortunately, she didn’t cause any accident or hit any car on her way back, but she could have done so, and things would have ended up horribly. It is also nice that the big truck sort of blocked the path for everyone behind, because if not, they might have had to face this irresponsible driver.
Many Redditors were livid after watching this video and quickly shamed the driver.
“Should never be allowed to drive again,” commented one person.
“The roads are full of these lunatics. Put other people’s lives, including their own, at risk. Not just mildly infuriating. INFURIATING!” said another person.
We hope this video reaches the authorities because this lady deserves some form of punishment. She was extremely careless while behind the wheel and could have hurt someone. Someone needs to take her license away as soon as possible.
