Americans and cars are arguably one of the most iconic pairings in the world. For many people, owning a car isn’t just practical; it is almost a rite of passage into adulthood. It is why some folks baby their cars, treating them like prized possessions that must never be scratched, dented, or touched the wrong way. But not everyone feels that way. There is a whole other side of the spectrum where people could not care less about cars or even take pleasure in destroying them. And if you are a car lover, you might want to brace yourself before watching a certain viral video coming out of Compton, California.
The video shows a group of Compton men can be seen completely demolishing a car in the middle of the street. It starts with a few guys smashing the vehicle with what looks like a golf club, while others kick the doors and panels with full force. The car is attacked from all angles, as if their goal is to make sure not a single piece remains intact. Some of them even begin dismantling parts by hand, ripping off pieces one by one.
At one point, a man climbs onto the hood so he can get a better angle to smash the front windshield. Meanwhile, another car is drifting in tight circles nearby, engine roaring, adding chaotic background noise to the destruction. The driver spins around repeatedly, doing donuts right next to the group tearing the other vehicle apart.
But the chaos does not stop there. Once the car is already beaten beyond recognition, someone brings out a roll of paper. It is clearly not for any hygienic purpose. Instead, they light the roll on fire and toss it straight into the car’s interior. Others throw in more flammable items to feed the flames. As the fire slowly spreads, consuming the seats and dashboard, a few people still climb on top of the smoking, wrecked vehicle, as if posing for some twisted victory moment in Compton.
Naturally, the internet reacted with shock and disbelief. Many viewers could not understand why anyone would go through such effort just to wreck a car for fun. “Losers just being losers. These street takeovers are so dumb and always make everyone involved look like absolute idiots,” one user wrote. Another person suggested that the car was probably stolen, saying, “I was under the impression that those cars were almost always stolen, hence the engine, tire, and handbrake wrecking performance.”
Others were baffled by the lack of common sense displayed, especially when the group struggled to keep the burning roll of paper intact instead of unrolling it for a bigger flame. “Thinking. It is out of their mental capacity,” someone commented.
