Texas Mom Sparks Backlash After Saying Child-Free People Can’t Be Busy or Tired: ‘We do know, you guys remind us 24/7′

Let people live

As is typical of the internet, people fight over the dumbest things, like whether having a child is good or bad. It’s a small minority. Some look at parents and think they’re making the wrong decision; others think otherwise. And around they go! No matter how you want to do things, what you choose is best for you. One out-of-touch Texas mother wanted to widen the rift, and the internet, surprisingly, didn’t like it.

TikToker Danni__ek starts by arguing “people without kids realize how much free time they actually have. They are practically on vacation 24/7 and you don’t realize that until you have kids and have no free time, ever.” She says her friends, ones who don’t have kids, will sometimes tell her they’re tired or they’re busy, but how could they? According to Danielle, you can only feel tired when you’re raising a whole family.

It’s a harmful attitude to have toward child-free people. The choice to have a family is an entirely personal one, as well as difficult. Kids are not a walk-in-the-park (though you’ll do plenty of that, literally). With the poor housing market in the U.S. and numerous layoffs from companies like Amazon, it’s no wonder couples don’t want kids!

Some people are impoverished and in no position to build their own family, even working two or more jobs or have to rely on Section 8 housing. Some people are attending college or making major job changes and don’t have time. Others still just choose to live their lives traveling without children holding them back. Who honestly cares?

It seems, deep down, Danielle understood that because in the same video, she says children or not, you can still “be overwhelmed and tired” on a day-to-day basis. She tells all people without children to “embrace the free time. Because once you do have kids, there will be little to no free time.”

One commenter quipped, “We do know, you guys remind us 24/7,” which is spot on. No one talks about child-free people on vacation than miserable parents. In fact, there are literal forums and boards out there for parents to complain about child-free people (and vice versa). People get really heated, too.

Another person pointed out, “Yes, our free time is different. It’s why a lot of us don’t want kids. But to say we’re ‘practically on vacation 24/7 is a little absurd.” And as if to prove my point, another person, presumably a child-free adult, fires back, saying “Vacation??? girl I work all damn day!”
