Texas Walmart Poisons Couple Twice With Raw Chicken Sandwiches: ‘Time To Call the Health Department’

When Walmart claims “Freshness Guaranteed” for your chicken sandwich, you might have a second look, as the food might be a little ‘fresh’ for its own good. That’s exactly what a woman and her husband experienced when they bought sandwiches from their local Walmart in Texas. Except, their chicken wasn’t just a little too fresh: it was straight-up raw. And anyone who’s cooked will know that chicken is the last meat you want undercooked, as the salmonella poisoning from the raw poultry can be dangerous.

The “Raw Chicken” saga began last month when the woman took a bite out of her sandwich, only to realize the meat was very undercooked. “0/2 for the Walmart kitchen today👌,” she remarked on r/mildlyinfuriating. Apparently, it also wasn’t until her husband took a bite that they realized the meat was a little too juicy. Fortunately, they didn’t get sick; at least, she claimed she didn’t get sick, with no mention of her husband’s condition. It would seem, though, that he was fine as well, as the next month, the couple went for Round 2 of being poisoned by their Walmart deli.

In the next post, “Raw Walmart chicken sandwich pt 2,” the Texan this time showed another Walmart sandwich with fried chicken that was only fried on the outside. “He somehow thought it would be a good idea to give our local Walmart another chance,” she explained, as it would have been hard to forget about such an incident. But only after he got a “nice big juicy bite of raw bird” did they realize “that we did not learn our lesson.”

“Time to call the health department,” suggests a Redditor in the comment. “Obviously they arent temp checking their batches,” remarks another. “At this point that chicken is not mildly infuriating its a public health project,” comments a third. The woman did end up going back to the Walmart to warn the workers about their uncooked chicken sandwiches, so hopefully there won’t be a third Reddit post of the couple getting salmonella-poisoned again with more raw meat.
