It’s terrifying to believe that your personal space has been violated. However, one young woman in New York had that feeling taken to the next level when she returned home after a brief outing and discovered something that proved to her that someone unknown had been in her home, and that they may still be inside. So, she grabbed a weapon and began recording herself as she searched through her apartment.

It all started when a New York woman named Kenna returned to her New York City apartment to find a package with her name on it sitting inside her door. This was a huge red flag to her, as her apartment was locked when she left to go to the store and returned to figure out that someone had been inside.

Understandably, Kenna was afraid about the fact that someone had gained entry into her locked home, and that they may still be inside. She took a knife from her kitchen and began to explore.

“What the [expletive]? I went to the [expletive] store, and I came back, and there was a package inside my apartment. And I locked my door and everything. How did the package get inside my apartment?” she says into the camera.

Kenna goes on to explain that there is no way someone would have been able to slip the package under the door. She looks absolutely terrified and even tearful as she walks around her apartment, knife in hand, and searches places such as her shower. “Hello,” she yells. “I’m scared,” she admits. “How did someone get into my apartment?”

TikTok viewers were also in disbelief and some tried to offer some comfort to Kenna. Meanwhile, others wondered why she didn’t immediately call the police instead of picking up her phone to record the situation.

“Get an indoor camera,” one person suggested. “I feel like your gaslighting us,” another said. “Being scared yet deciding to film yourself for TikTok is nuts,” a third person declared. “This is our survival instinct these days,” a fourth person added.

In a follow-up video, Kenna revealed that she eventually solved the mystery. The maintenance man happened to see the package and open up her door to place it inside. “[They] didn’t tell me so that’s not very cool,” she said of the situation.

Thankfully, this New York woman was safe and sound and doesn’t have to worry that someone was sneaking around her apartment. However, she may want to have a talk with maintenance about when it’s acceptable to enter her home.
