Birthday Surprise Gone Wrong: Las Vegas Woman Finds Noodles Inside Lego Box, ‘How in the World?’

At least the box wasn’t empty

Sometimes, the best birthday gifts are the ones you buy for yourself, especially when it’s something you’ve been wanting for a while. That’s exactly what one Las Vegas woman decided to do for her birthday this year. She treated herself to a Lego set that was supposed to be a festive Christmas wreath.

From the outside, everything looked perfect. The box showed an adorable holiday design, and with Christmas right around the corner, it seemed like the ideal decoration. But when she opened it, she got a surprise she definitely wasn’t expecting.

Instead of Lego pieces, the box was filled with noodles.

@LEGO @target I would like some answer to this birthday gift shenanigans 😅! Pretty sure someone broke into my gift!! Has anyone else had this happen to them?!? #lego#target#scammed#viral#foryoupage

The Las Vegas woman called out both Lego and Target after realizing what happened, since she purchased the box from them. She said she deserves an explanation and a refund. To prove she wasn’t making the story up, she filmed the contents of the box, showing the noodles inside.

Whoever did it went as far as removing the Lego pieces from their original plastic bags and replacing them with uncooked noodles. There were even empty plastic bags left inside, suggesting they didn’t bother filling every bag.

As of now, she hasn’t posted an update on whether Lego or Target has reached out to her. The most likely scenario is that someone bought the set before her, swapped the Lego pieces with noodles to mimic the weight and sound of the box when shaken, and then returned it.

Honestly, it’s a clever scam, but an incredibly unfortunate one for the unsuspecting buyer.

People Reacting to the Las Vegas Woman’s Birthday Surprise

A lot of people were shocked by what the Las Vegas woman found. There were some who didn’t see something like that before, which is why one person wrote, “Ok but how in the WORLD.” Others started explaining what probably happened as another person said, “people buy them, steal the contents, fill it with random crap (noodles), return it to the store, and get their money back.” Some people even admired whoever did this, as one woman wrote, “Someone bought it, took the pieces and returned it with noodles. Kinda genius and evil at the same time.” Someone else said, “as long as she gets her money back i am in full support of the person who returned this. Creativity of this level is admirable.”

Many people were oddly impressed by the person who replaced the Las Vegas woman’s Legos with noodles. One commenter wrote, “This is definitely not their first time doing this, because they even picked a noodle that sounds like Legos.”

Someone who previously worked in customer service also shared their experience with similar situations. “This is why we had to open boxes and check them when I worked in customer service. We had someone do the same thing, and we also had someone try to return a TV. He argued when we said we had to open the box, and sure enough, he had put rocks inside. There was no TV,” they said.

Stories like this are exactly why people say you can’t trust anyone these days. Hopefully, she’ll end up with a brand-new Lego box that’s completely noodle-free.
