Your average run-in with ICE, at least as a natural-born citizen (and even that’s sketchy, at best), tends to be you taking a different route. If you’re an immigrant, illegal or otherwise, you have the added fear of being deported. Others, like this man in Minnesota, decide to belly-up to the table. When he saw an ICE agent on what looked like a relaxing stakeout in town, the local chose to speak up.
Instagram user UP_VERSUS_DOWN shared a video of him confronting an ICE agent parked alongside the road. When the man approached the vehicle, you quickly noticed the ICE agent was geared to the nines. Apparently, that didn’t dissuade the local man from launching curses at the dumbfounded agent and making fun of him for having a scope on his firearm.
The ICE agent lets out a weak excuse, arguing the man is “following” hi,m and now he feels threatened. And yet, this guy is sitting in the cold, waiting for some boogeyman of an immigrant to pop up. Do you need that kind of hardware to arrest illegal immigrants? Seems pretty ghoulish when most of them are in the US seeking better opportunities.
The man tells the ICE agent, “Bro, I don’t care what you say right now. I know my rights” and to “Leave my state. Immediately.”
In response to this, the ICE agent puts his window up and pulls away, likely thinking better since the do-gooder did get a very good look at his face. It’s actually surprising to see an ICE agent without a mask. I almost forgot there were people underneath them.
“Bald boy can’t even get his words,” one commenter hilariously pointed out on Instagram (while another shared a GIF of Voldemort). Poor schmuck was zoned in on finding “illegal” immigrants; someone got the drop on him. Do you think he’ll reflect and realize immigrant families feel the same fear? Probably not.
“I love how he doesn’t even let that pig speak, just there to deliver a message,” another quipped.
“I imagine each bullet is about the cost of a meal. [Expletive] this government,” said one commenter on the subreddit r/CringeTikToks, where the video was reposted. They argued ICE was wasting their tax dollars and could be better spent on SNAP. They figured one firearm would “feed 30 people,” while a single bullet costs a meal.
And if all that ICE funding did go to SNAP, you just know conservatives would be crowing about it going to minorities or something. Feeding kids is apparently not on their agenda!
