It’s sometimes easy to forget just how terrifyingly powerful Mother Nature can be. That said, Idaho and its surrounding states are experiencing pretty rough weather, with high winds reaching upwards of 60+ MPH. On top of the heavy rain and out-of-control gusts in the area, the US National Weather Service Boise Idaho reported that the temperature has hit a new high record of 58 degrees since 1917. And if all that wasn’t wild enough, one neighborhood experienced a power outage when a trampoline flying through the air smashed into their power line, knocking out the electricity.
“Ah so this is why the power’s been out all day,” states Idaho resident Valhallaback_Girl on r/mildlyinfuriating, posting a photo of a seemingly unbelievable sight of a torn-up trampoline smashed up against a power line. But with the crazy weather the locals have been experiencing, it’s not too hard to imagine something like this could happen. “Had 50-79 mph winds all day. Can’t say I’ve seen this before,” she remarks. And plenty in the post’s comment section agreed: this was truly a bizarre sight to behold.
“That sucks man. Thats kinda of crazy seeing that out in the wild. I’m surprised with those winds it got that high up. Big winds, but that’s a lil nutty!” says one commenter. “It’s a bird! No, it’s a plane! No, it’s super…. It’s a trampoline!” joked another. A few users chimed in, pointing out how in their state, the winds are absolutely out of control as well, specifically in Wyoming and Colorado. And as you might expect, no one is enjoying the bad weather.
“I hate this season so much. We desperately need snow for bogus and mountains. Been truly awful,” says a Facebook user on the Idaho National Weather Service’s report. “Even though the wind is whipping, the sun hits my living room window and sliding glass door and it’s 73° in my apartment right now 🫠,” groans another.
With wind speeds like what’s happening now, anyone who put out Christmas decorations might be in for an unfortunate surprise if anything is blown away. Hopefully, the weather calms down before the holidays arrive.
