A woman and her husband rented a secluded Airbnb in Salt Lake City, Utah, only to find themselves terrified by disturbing YouTube searchers and a front door that wouldn’t lock.
The borderline haunted house and the unsettling findings were shared on TikTok by user bambiwaldorf (Bambi). From the get-go, the woman found strange YouTube reccomendations at the Airbnb’s TV, including “Most Mysterious Disappearances in National Parks That Remain Unsolved.”
The YouTube searches weren’t much better. In two different TVs, someone had searched for “Missing persons cases,” “gruesome discovery,” and “Joyce Carol Vincent Documentary,” referring to the disturbing death of a British woman.
“This is like an episode of Get Out,” Bambi said.
The couple would then discover that the Utah Airbnb’s front door wouldn’t lock, leaving them exposed to an invasion. Bambi is seen frantically turning the lock mechanism to no avail.
Next, the woman tried to reason with her husband, mentioning that there are lots of “sketchy things.” The man, however, told her to stop, implying that she was exaggerating. Bambi, jokingly, suggested, “What if you’re in on it?“
Someone Enters The House, Reactions
Horror struck next, as, according to Bambi, someone opened the door at around 2 a.m. and began walking around on the first floor. In the dark, the woman whispered, trying not to alarm whoever or whatever was lurking downstairs. The couple noticed that a second door was open and armed themselves with a knife and a “heavy water bottle,” in case they needed it.
The harrowing stay ended once the police arrived at the Utah Airbnb. It took them 40 minutes to arrive.
Many users were horrified by the couple’s choice of Airbnb. Some of them even blasted Bambi’s husband, who refused to listen to her concerns.
“Why do husbands never listen to the wives in horror movies?” one user asked. Another one said, “Soon as I seen that search history I would’ve been out of there.” A third one added, “Sometimes you have to forget about the money loss and just leave.”
While Bambi captioned the sketchy Airbnb video as “Day 1,” she has not posted since. If they truly left, then the internet will probably never find out if there was more concerning stuff inside the Utah home.
