Not everyone is fortunate when it comes to the relationships they end up in. Some people find themselves with toxic partners whose behavior becomes increasingly unpredictable and dangerous. That’s what one South Carolina woman says she experienced after coming home one day to a shocking discovery.
According to her, the relationship had already been unhealthy, but she never expected things to escalate the way they did. While she was out with friends, her boyfriend allegedly lost control. When she returned home, she found the place completely destroyed, with belongings damaged and chaos everywhere.
There is no excuse for behavior like that, and the incident served as a frightening reminder of how quickly toxic relationships can turn dangerous.
In the South Carolina woman’s video, it was clear that nothing in the home had been spared. She began by showing the bedroom, which was completely trashed. The floor was covered in destroyed belongings, the mattress had been flipped upright, and drawers were scattered everywhere.
She then walked into the kitchen, where the destruction continued. Both trash cans had been knocked over, with their contents spilled across the floor. One of the cans, made of metal, was visibly bent. Cabinets were left wide open, adding to the chaos.
The damage didn’t stop there. When she reached what appeared to be the living room, it too had been vandalized. Her now-ex boyfriend had sprayed spaghetti sauce across the wall and even wrote the word “Liar” on it. She shared that he also smeared ketchup on her bed. On top of that, she said he cut up all of her clothes, leaving her with nothing to wear.
Throughout the video, she offered a warning to other women. “Just leave. Choose yourself, because I didn’t,” she said. Given the extent of the destruction and the clear danger of the situation, she contacted the police to protect herself. According to her, the man is now in jail.
There was little sympathy for him online, especially after viewers learned that the couple’s cats were inside the home during the rampage and were left terrified by what happened.
People Reacting to the South Carolina Woman’s Video
People were shocked at the state the South Carolina woman’s house was left in. This is why many advised her that she must leave and never go back. “Hire a cleaner, leave, and move immediately,” one person wrote. Many comments also felt bad for the cats such as one saying, “Poor kitties that must have been scary for them too.” Another person wrote, “When I heard that meow my heart broke. I can just imagine them trying to find a safe place to hide while he raged. Thank god he didn’t think to do anything to them. I’m glad her and the kitty’s are safe now.” Thankfully, the woman replied, “I immediately checked on them when I saw how bad the house was.”
When one person suggested that the South Carolina woman move out, she responded honestly, saying, “If I could, I would, girl. I don’t have the money to replace everything, let alone to just move out.”
That response prompted another commenter to offer practical advice. “If this video gets enough views, you should start a GoFundMe because your safety is way more important than anything else,” they wrote. “Like others have said, definitely change the locks until you have the finances to move. Dealing with someone this unstable means you have to be extremely careful and aware of your surroundings.”
She ultimately took that advice and started a GoFundMe to help cover expenses and prioritize her safety. Hopefully, the support she receives will help her begin to recover and move forward, even if only a little.
