When dealing with ICE agents, most people tend to follow their orders, with only a small number attempting to run away or resist. However, there are also individuals who are more confrontational and are not afraid to push back when they believe the situation is unjust. One such incident occurred in La Habra, California, where a civilian was seen shoving an ICE agent during a tense encounter. The incident was captured on video and quickly spread online. According to the footage, the situation began with the civilian speaking directly with the ICE agent, and at no point did it appear that the civilian was being formally detained. During the exchange, another civilian, a woman, attempted to deescalate the situation, positioning herself between the two and seemingly trying to calm things down.

Despite this effort, the first civilian reacted quickly and unexpectedly moved behind the ICE agent, shoving him from the back. The push did not knock the ICE agent to the ground, but it did cause him to stumble on the sidewalk, momentarily losing his balance. Anticipating what would happen next, the La Habra civilian immediately took off running, fleeing the scene as the ICE agent recovered and gave chase.

Both individuals ran down the sidewalk, but it quickly became clear that the civilian was significantly faster. The ICE agent struggled to keep pace and soon began losing ground, drawing attention to the unevenness of the pursuit. As the chase continued, the situation escalated further when the ICE agent’s firearm was seen falling to the ground as he ran, forcing him to stop and retrieve it before continuing.

The video ended shortly after this moment, leaving viewers without clarity on what ultimately happened to the civilian. It remains unknown whether the individual was later identified or targeted by ICE officers, though it is possible authorities may attempt to pursue charges by claiming the civilian interfered with an officer’s duties.

Online reaction to the La Habra incident was immediate and intense, with many people expressing amusement and approval of the civilian’s actions. Numerous commenters applauded the shove and the successful escape from the ICE agent. “Rule #1 for surviving ICE: Cardio,” one user joked.

Others mocked the ICE agent for being unable to keep up during the chase, pointing out that while the civilian was running, the pace was not particularly fast and could have been matched by someone in better condition. Several commenters suggested the ICE agent’s lack of speed reflected poor physical preparedness. “Civilian evaded ICE with a brisk walk,” another user wrote.

At the same time, many viewers were shocked by the fact that the ICE agent dropped his weapon during the pursuit, questioning how such a lapse could occur. “Cops are supposed to have holsters with multiple levels of retention so no one but them can access their sidearm. I don’t know what kind of setup this guy was using, but he’s putting everyone at risk of a loose weapon and making himself look completely unprofessional,” one commenter said.
