A couple of “activists” who live in Ohio have gone viral recently after taking a page from YouTuber Nick Shirley’s investigation of Somali-immigrant-run daycares that had no kids. The problem with their approach was that they broke the establishment’s policy by clearly ignoring the “No Trespassing” sign, leading to the ire of the daycare staff and the couple getting kicked out.
The incident took place in Columbus, Ohio, during early January, specifically in the Jubba Daycare. The couple, whom many online consider MAGA activists, can be seen trespassing into the daycare despite the “No Trespassing” sign and abruptly getting pushed out by the angry and alarmed Somali-American man.
While the couple did comply and leave the premises, it appears they plan to do something about getting evicted from the daycare’s premises, with the woman saying, “I’m calling the cops, he pushed me.” It appears the two were there to ask “questions,” though that doesn’t explain why they didn’t knock first or ask for permission to enter, and they certainly didn’t have any related children enrolled in that particular daycare.
However, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine himself stated that access is usually restricted to the daycare centers for any adult with no registered child in the establishment to ensure child safety. For the MAGA couple in the video, however, getting kicked out of an establishment where they’re not welcome was supposedly grounds for suspicion, for some reason, “That’s how screwed up this place is right now!” claims the man who was filming.
People online are lambasting the couple
It’s not clear if the couple followed through with their threats of legal action or what happened afterward to Jubba Daycare. Regardless, many people online are not exactly on the side of the MAGA couple, “sounds like they think the rules don’t apply to them anymore,” claims a commenter, with another replying, “Apparently, and they are big snowflakes.”
Others have pointed out just how ridiculous the gaslighting was coming from the couple, “All we did was walk inside a private property to harass people,” further accusing them of being nuisances for attention, “wtf dude? All of this for clicks?!” As for why the couple might have decided to do their own crackdown, Somali-run daycares are apparently hot targets right now for suspicion among conservative-leaning or anti-immigration communities.
Many of them have assumed that the immigrant-run daycares are “Almost like its not a real business and just a front for money laundering,” after seeing Nick Shirley’s viral report for certain daycares. In any case, certain people online were also weirded out by the MAGA couple’s attitude of demanding to see kids in a daycare, “‘LET ME SEEE YOUR KIDSSS’ [expletive] disgusting pig are obsessed with children like the president💯,” mocks a commenter.
