After the actions of ICE claimed the life of a woman named Renee Good, a veteran in Minnesota has since taken a bold stand, drawing widespread attention for both his protest and his striking outfit as he confronted agents over their unchecked actions. A video posted on X showed the man wearing a dramatic fur jacket as he angrily confronted ICE agents.
“I hope you can see through those damn glasses, that you [expletive] up,” he could be heard shouting passionately. “You stand there and supporting this [Expletive] and they kill a woman,” the veteran who served in Vietnam continued, going on to list what he described as multiple ICE abuses affecting the community. “They are [expletive] this community!” he yelled relentlessly. “You are here to terrorize this city,” he added, calling the agents “a bunch of [expletive].”
In another recording, the veteran doubled down, standing alone in front of several ICE agents, with a crowd of protesters gathered behind him. This time, he targeted agents who were people of color. “You are doing this for the money. How do you explain this to your Black mother that you are downgrading Black folks?” he asked angrily.
While the situation was deeply serious to the veteran, many netizens fixated on something else entirely and didn’t hold back in pointing it out. “Pulled up to the protest in a mink coat and said, ‘Screw ICE and PETA,’” one user wrote. Another added, “He’s gonna look sensational in a historically archived website article 50 years from now and incite a new generation to protest in the finest of furs, WOW.”
More comments followed about his appearance. “Vietnam hat + fur coat combo is a look and I’m here for it,” one user penned, while another emphasized, “You heard it from the Vietnam Veteran Pimp.”
Another acknowledged the seriousness of the issue but still focused on the look:
“I know this is a serious issue, but unc fly af.” Someone else added, “If a Vietnam Vet wearing a mink is scolding my bad actions, that ride home from work would never be the same.” Others applauded his stance, with one person writing, “This guy is a hero. ICE is doing more damage to our country than undocumented immigrants.” Still fixated on the coat, another commented, “Speaking the truth in a phenomenal coat goes hard.” One user added a broader reflection, writing, “Imagine going to Vietnam to fight communism and now welcoming them into your homeland.”
The outrage didn’t emerge in isolation. As previously reported by The Nerd Stash, following the death of Good, a mother to a 6-year-old, tensions escalated further after Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem described the victim’s actions as domestic terrorism.
“She attempted to run them over and rammed them with her vehicle. An officer of ours acted quickly and defensively, shot, to protect himself and the people around him,” she said in her remarks that have since fueled intense public protests.
