After spending three hours sitting in a coffee shop, working on her laptop, despite the establishment’s policy, an influencer attempted to drag a New York coffee shop online after being kicked out. The internet wasn’t having any of it, and even caught her lying about the supposed price for a coffee.
The influencer’s delusion was exposed by TikTok user daadisnacks (Daadi). He called out Alexa, who has since changed her username to Bestiebri, who gave a scathing review of Cafe Habibti, located in Greenwich Village, New York City, New York.
In the original video, Alexa praised Habibti, calling its ambience beautiful and saying she liked their latte. Alexa wasn’t a fan of the cinnamon roll, though. She claimed she had been kicked out of the coffee shop after spending almost three hours sitting with her laptop. Apparently, there is a no-computers policy during the weekends.
Despite her being kicked out claim, she then contradicted herself, saying that she left voluntarily.
“I didn’t really get kicked out, but it defeated the purpose of me even being there, and at that point, I was ready to go,” she said.
Influencer Blasted, Doubles Down
People heavily criticized her for her pettiness. After all, she did spend three hours inside the New York coffee shop, despite the no-computers policy. Daadi even told her she should’ve just gone to a public library if she needed to work so badly.
Alexa, however, doubled down in a separate video, even bashing Habibti for charging her $25 for an iced coffee she described as small. She also called their dessert “nasty.” However, users once again bashed her after posting Cafe Habibti’s menu. Contrary to her claim, the most expensive coffee costs $8.50.
Overall, thousands of users flooded Alexa’s comment section with criticism, siding with the New York coffee shop instead.
“3 hours is crazy! This is not a library,” one user said. Another one wrote, “I have influencer fatigue.” A third added, “Looking for a place to work? Have you tried ‘the office?’“
While Alexa continued to triple and even quadruple down with her coffee shop experience, it is safe to say that Cafe Habibti will do just fine. Many, including Daadi, will visit soon, and the surge in popularity will certainly help the small coffee shop thrive.
