New York Woman Has Worst Date Ever With Negging Man

After meeting what appeared to be a nice man out in the wild, a woman in New York went through a disastrous first date. The reason? The man, drunk, couldn’t stop “psychoanalyzing” her, with many blaming him for shameless negging.

Steph Taylor, the victim of such an awful date, shared her story on TikTok, captioning the video with “Men aren’t lonely enough.” She detailed that she had met the wannabe psychoanalyst “in the wild,” while playing a game of kickball. The pair appeared to hit it off, so they set up a date, which proved to be a horrible mistake in hindsight.

After the man started drinking during the date, his lovely demeanor changed. Suddenly, he immediately shifted his focus to Steph’s mental health.

“I bet you’re on anxiety meds,” the man said, according to the New York woman. Steph’s date, somehow, was right.

“How did you come to that conclusion?” the woman asked, and the man answered, “You just give those vibes. You’re clearly a very sheltered person. You’re clearly somebody who thinks you know everything and has seen the world, but you don’t know anything.”

The man went on and on, delivering what he believed were scientifically proven facts about Steph’s character. He questioned her about her past relationships, saying that the New York woman had been in “a lot of situationships, but don’t ever have a boyfriend.”

Two hours later, the worst date ever concluded, and Steph, visibly upset, called him mean.

Clip Goes Viral, Reactions

The clip went viral, garnering more than 215,000 likes and over 11,000 comments. Most users supported Steph, calling out the inexcusable behavior of a man who appeared to know everything about everyone, all the time. Some even explained that he was “negging” her, which is to emotionally manipulate her with backhanded compliments.

“He hates himself. HATES. HIMSELF,” one user said. Another one commented, “So he mansplained…yourself…to you?! Meta.” A third one wrote, “He’s the reason most women on anti anxiety meds.”

It is safe to say that’s the last time Steph will ever see this man again. Out of the worst things you can do on a first date, calling the other a sheltered person and shaming them for being on anxiety meds is probably up there in that list.
