A popular content creator from Arkansas, who impersonates The King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, was recording a TikTok in a park when he was suddenly interrupted. A group of friends mocked his attire and the way he talked, and even threw something at him. The King, however, remained calm, refusing to engage with the hostility.
The impersonator himself, Chewy Thompson, uploaded the clip to TikTok. While holding a glass of water, something that he has repeatedly done in the past during his comedic clips, he is approached by an off-screen group of friends. They were high schoolers, according to Thompson.
“What’s up, guys? I’m filming a video out here. How are you guys doing?” the Arkansas man asked the group, in an accent matching Elvis’s.
Instead of getting a civilized response, one of the young fellows asked with a rude tone, “Is this your job? To dress up like an Elvis guy?” Thompsom remained unfazed and just answered, “Yeah.”
“Do you actually make money doing that?” one of the high schoolers asked. The impersonator, again, calmly explained that he did and that he always dressed like The King. Meanwhile, another rude young man started to mock his accent.
Seeing the mockery from a mile away, Thompson asked, “What’s your point, fellas?” At that very moment, one of them threw an object, a small pinecone, at him, hitting the glass of water.
Giving Them Discipline, Reactions
While the Arkansas man could’ve reacted to the harassment, matching the extremely inappropriate behavior, Thompson kept filming himself. The group of friends eventually left, with one of them mockingly singing Hound Dog.
“How sad does your day have to be to just do that to someone out filming at the park?” the Elvis man asked. He then hilariously chugged the glass of water, something he routinely does in his videos.
Thompson later explained in the video description that he would’ve handled things way differently in the past. He said, “Old me would’ve reacted. New me just kept on filming. When they want a reaction, give them discipline instead.”
Users bashed the annoying and disrespectful high schoolers in the comments. One user said, “Always fail to make me laugh. But this time you made me proud.” Another wrote, “Keep going! They peaked in high school!” A third one asked, “Why they attacking this legend?“
Thompson has since continued posting videos as Elvis, eating extravagant foods, and, once again, failing to drink water. If the rude boys wanted him to stop doing what he does, then they failed miserably.
