How quickly the tables can turn when you’re dealing with a Karen. Imagine being called out by an angry individual, just for them to break down in tears when you throw that same energy back at them. Well, that’s what happened when an elderly California Karen decided to confront the owners of an SUV in a parking garage. When she tried to tell them off about how they parked their vehicle, they decided to hit ‘record.’ She didn’t like what happened next.
Madyson (@mm_ellen.g) shared a TikTok video showing an interaction with a Karen that did a sudden 360. In the video, the recorder and another individual are approached by an elderly woman who’s clearly frazzled. Why? She doesn’t like that their vehicle is large and parked next to her vehicle. Keep in mind, they’re inside their spaces. But, apparently, they’re too close that she can’t comfortably get inside her vehicle without complaining. She exclaims, “You parked this behemoth here!” as they approach her, filming the entire time.
The Karen doesn’t like that she’s on video from the very start. She asks, “What are you using it for?” and the recorder replies, “To prove how crazy you are.” The recorder then tells her they’ll give the video to the police. Exasperated, she asks them, “You’re calling the police?” The individual behind the camera explains, “Well, if you keep yelling, yeah.” He tells her he took down her license plate and can send it to them. At this point, you can tell the Karen is shocked and starts wandering away, and her demeanor completely changes.
When she realizes the recorder is being completely serious, she starts weeping in front of them. She begs him, “Please! No!” She’s worried that police could become involved and that she’s most likely in the wrong here for causing a scene. As she’s blubbering, the recorder tells her, “Then stop yelling about nothing!”
One commenter mentioned, “How quick they switch up” and this is completely real. They’ll be loud and belligerent until they realize law enforcement might become involved. Then, suddenly, they want nothing to do with it. As another commenter pointed out, “It’s okay until you start threatening consequences.” Just remember: Having a bad day isn’t an excuse to take your anger out on another human being.
