Mission accomplished

Maine, the safest state in the country, buried in the far Northeast and nowhere near the southern border, still manages get the attention of ICE attempting to continue their anti-immigration streak. Footage of a team of ICE agents has gone viral, as their planned search operation was essentially thwarted by Portland, Maine locals hurling insults and mocking relentlessly. Now locals on Reddit have added more fuel to the fire, and the insults are not kind, to say the least. However, DHS reports that its operation was a success, resulting in many arrests.

In a post shared to portaldme Reddit thread, you can see numerous images of ICE in action. In a now-deleted video, citizens were standing outside and hurling insult after insult at the ICE agents, who were thwarted from entering a business, and then hung their heads in defeat as they got back in their car. Many folks in the thread took to fat shaming them, pointing out their appearance, while others said people fat shaming, even ICE agents, ought to be disappointed in themselves.

However, DHS issued a statement that, despite videos and images circulating of ICE being mocked and insulted, its Maine operation was a success. They dubbed their Maine mission “Operation Catch of the Day” and issued a full statement. From Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

Governor Mills and her fellow sanctuary politicians in Maine have made it abundantly clear that they would rather stand with criminal illegal aliens than protect law-abiding American citizens. We have launched Operation Catch of the Day to target the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens in the state. On the first day of operations, we arrested illegal aliens charged and convicted of aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and endangering the welfare of a child. Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, we are no longer allowing criminal illegal aliens to terrorize American citizens.

Here are the controversial takes Maine locals had to say on the Reddit page.

“Oakleys, cargo pants, and the unmistakable posture of a man whose biggest daily threat is pre-diabetes.”

“I don’t condone fat shaming at all, but that only applies to people so I see no offense being committed here. Carry on, good sir 🫡”

“ICE Needs a budget increase for all the XXXL tactical gear”

“Do not fat shame. Period. Dot. End of story.”

DHS claims to have arrested several violent offenders, but many don’t believe them. Only time will tell, but it seemed like their operation is over, at least for now, but it’s only a matter of time before ICE will find new targets in another city soon.
