A woman booked an Airbnb in Snowmass, Colorado, which cost her $500 a night. Little did she know that the whole place was falling apart, leading to a nightmare stay.
TikToker itxshesnotjess (Xhesika) shared her less-than-stellar experience at the hotel. According to her, she picked the spot because the owner was a Superhost, and other hotels in neighboring Aspen were fully booked due to the X Games.
Without the host notifying them, Xhesika and her boyfriend were met with a strange man fixing something inside the home. A “muddy mess” was left all over the floor as a result, given that the man was using outdoor snow boots. He stayed at the house while the couple went out to get food, leaving their property with a stranger.
The random fellow staying at the Colorado Airbnb was not an issue at all, considering there was no furniture in the living room besides a tiny, sky-blue chair and a sofa. On top of it, the outlets were “literally falling apart,” the fireplace didn’t work despite the cold, the heat was busted, and there was no hot water in the shower.
Regarding the bedroom, there were no night tables and no headboard for the double bed. The window had “the thinnest blinds ever,” leading them to be blinded by light during the night. Moreover, the walls were so thin that they could hear everything happening outside.
“The pillows are from Dollar General for sure,” Xhesika added, blasting the Colorado Airbnb even further. “They’re stained and disgusting.”
Host Embarrasses Himself, Reactions
After the worst night of their lives, the couple messaged the supposed “Superhost,” asking them what had happened with the Airbnb. The host, however, didn’t seem to care much about their complaints, saying, “Well, this is just what it is.”
Shockingly, the Airbnb even advertised a hot tub, which was nowhere to be found. When asked, the host nonchalantly told them that it was in another building, not in the actual unit.
Xhesika, of course, had no nice words for the Colorado Airbnb and its host. She wrote in the clip’s description, “The hosts on Airbnb should get jail time because it’s a humiliation ritual showing up to these spots for the price you pay.”
Users were equally angry, fueled by their own experiences with the booking platform.
“I gave up on Airbnb years ago and never looked back,” one user said. Another one wrote, “Airbnb is truly horrible, and they do not care about their guests.” A third one added, “Airbnb lost the plot a while ago.”
By the looks of it, Xhesika will never step foot inside an Airbnb again. Kudos to her, it’s probably the wisest thing one can do in this day and age.
