You generally want to have a good relationship with your neighbors. However, there are some people who absolutely hate their neighbors’ guts. This usually ends up with quarrels and shouting breaking out in the neighborhood for one reason or another. In this instance, a New York woman had a big feud with her neighbor over the way he was shoveling snow.
In the video, the woman could be seen recording her neighbor with her phone as he shoveled snow out of his driveway. The man appeared focused on clearing the snow, while the woman stood nearby, repeatedly telling someone to call the police. The New York woman mentioning the police over and over seemed to anger her neighbor, especially as the argument continued to drag on. In retaliation, he dumped the snow he had shoveled directly toward the woman.
Despite this, the New York woman remained largely unbothered and simply repeated her request to call the police. She got quite close to her neighbor at one point, even pushing her phone right up into his face while continuing to record. This happened twice, and the second time appeared to make the man snap. He finally stopped shoveling and began yelling at the woman, who immediately yelled back at the man. The two threw accusations and insults at each other, with neither of them willing to back down.
Things escalated further when the New York woman decided to try to take away her neighbor’s shovel. This caused a brief tug-and-pull between the woman and her neighbor, drawing even more attention to the situation. Eventually, the woman gave up and distanced herself from the man, though she continued recording him from farther away.
The internet was rather flabbergasted as to why the New York woman was picking a fight with her neighbor in the first place. Some users explained that, in certain places, you are not exactly allowed to throw snow into the street, which may have been part of the issue between them.
“Not sure what state you live in, but here in Maryland we absolutely have a law that says you can’t shovel snow into the street. The street means the whole street, not just the middle of the street. They say it on the news every snowstorm not to shovel your snow into the street. Yet every storm we have people making piles in the street that take up parking spaces for weeks on end until it melts,” one user said.
Others remarked that this New York incident was a reminder of an older event where a disagreement between neighbors over snow ended far more tragically. “Some guy about an hour from me shot a couple and then himself after a snow argument some years back. There’s video of it on Reddit. Be careful who you argue with over snow, folks,” one commenter wrote.
