New York Woman Calls Out Individual Who Wants to Go to Back to ‘Regular’ Police Brutality: ‘Their Privilege Will Always Be Over Morality’

Some things are best left unsaid

People say the craziest things and expect it won’t follow them. The statements that people have been making online during ICE arrests across the U.S. are something completely different from what we’ve ever seen. The empathy just isn’t there. When a New York woman stumbled across a post on Threads, she was shocked by what she saw. A veteran in the U.S. Army had some things to say about police brutality that nobody in their right mind would dare say, but she said it so openly.

Nae Nae (@naenae_jonez3) shared a TikTok video after she discovered somebody said something out of line on a Threads post. A woman, who is in the U.S. Army and works as a yoga instructor, posted, “Can we just go back to regular police brutality, please?” Now, saying so is just admitting that police brutality always existed and typically affected people of color in ways that are unimaginable. She also posted this in light of recent ICE violence in Minnesota, including the death of Alex Pretti.

Nae Nae questions what “neurons” in this woman’s brain decided that it was okay to post something like that. Apparently, a lot of people on social media don’t know that the internet lives forever. Your words will stick with you. Nae Nae, like so many other TikTokers, are shocked that somebody would be as bold as to suggest that it was okay when police were just inciting violence against “black and brown people.”

Nae Nae also points out, “Ya’ll will say [expletive] like this and then in the same breath, ask where black people are and why we’re not on the front lines” during ICE operations. She says that ICE and police have always been known to use people like her as a human shield. So, why would they put themselves in a situation where it could mean life or death?

The post shows that this woman was entirely out of touch. She only spoke up because ICE crimes are now “affecting people who look like” her. Since the Threads post, the poster’s profile has gone away. It’s clear that it was either deleted or she took it upon herself to take it down. Things probably got too real when commenters spoke up against her racism.

One commenter pointed out, “Their privilege will always be over morality.” Another commenter stated, “Translation: ‘Can we go back to when police were only profiling and brutalizing black people and other people of color? It’s not amusing anymore now that it’s happening to white people’ and this is why I will continue resting.”
