The United States of America has long been at war wth itself and Immigration and Customs Enforcement, better known as ICE. In 2026 alone, we have seen them commit heinous crimes such as murder and even kidnapping children. Most recently, California Representative Robert Garcia read aloud a few horrifying text messages photographed on an ICE agent’s cellphone.
The contents of the messages are nothing short of abysmal, especially since the person referenced was sitting in the room during a Democratic open forum. It’s difficult to imagine that this is the reality of living in America at this point.
The above video was taken at a Democratic shadow hearing where California Representative Robert Garcia spoke about the unlawful shooting of American citizen Marimar Martinez. She had been shot five times by a border patrol officer in October 2025, despite being unarmed herself. After the events of the shooting, the agent who had shot Martinez sent a text message that included an article.
In reference to the article, the agent wrote, “Read it. 5 shots. 7 holes. I have a MOF amendment to add to my story. I fired 5 rounds and she had 7 holes. Put that in your book boys.” It’s alleged that the messages were sent to another ICE agent and were intended to brag about his actions.
After apologizing to Martinez for the shooting, Garcia tries to get clarification about the nature of the crime. It’s terrible to see Martinez agree with everything being said, having lived it all firsthand.

Comments under the post were absolutely livid, with one Reddit commenter specifically saying, “Comments like that would be banned on Reddit, if directed towards government agents and officials.”
Another commenter wondered what the race of the agent who shot Martinez was, and someone else responded with, “It’s internalized racism, I’m hispanic and grew up in a white suburb. My dad had two jobs and was a gardener. When kids in my grade found out I’d always get jokes about being brown and my dad being a gardener blah blah blah. I was embarrassed of what my dad had to do for work. I would work with him in the summers and hate it so much. At the time I grew to resent the thought of being Hispanic, wanted to be apart of the “popular” crowd. So you start thinking how negative it is being brown or what not. Then I just grew up and realized how shitty people can make you feel and how they turn you against your own race. Glad I don’t feel that way anymore and proud of my dad for being who he is.”
It’s been less than a year since the Congressman took the mantle of California Representative, but it’s clear his heart is in the right place. Some comments focused specifically on that, with one of the might upvoted saying, “Love Robert Garcia. He is an underrated pioneer.”
