While convenient, delivery services like Uber Eats and DoorDash share the same primary advantage and disadvantage: their drivers. Of course, sometimes deliveries will be completed without a hitch, but there are quite a few instances that mandate a refund or report. And for one Washington woman, it was the latter when she received her PetSmart order in very disturbing condition: covered with blood. Granted, it wasn’t drenched, but it had enough drops all over the items that it was very visible and noticeable.
“I don’t know exactly what happened here, but it is concerning,” the woman began, explaining her situation on r/doordash. The DoorDasher didn’t inform her of any complications that occurred during the delivery, but he left more than what she asked for with her PetSmart delivery. “My items arrived with *very fresh* blood spots and smears all over them,” she said, clearly disturbed by the sight. She continued, saying that she has a door cam, which showed the man coming towards the house with drops of blood falling from his hand.
Like something from a horror movie, “There were also several drops of blood on every single step up to the door,” the woman added. Her items weren’t damaged, but they weren’t bagged, bizarrely enough. Not to mention, “this guy was clearly injured, bleeding significantly from an uncovered wound, and still making deliveries,” which is most definitely a huge issue. It was raining when the Dasher was making the delivery, so he might have fallen somewhere. However, there were no signs he’d tumbled anywhere on the woman’s dirt driveway.
Several people wondered if the man might have been bleeding from his nose. “Definitely not a nose bleed either, he had a visible injury on his hand,” the woman responded, her words verified by her surveillance camera. Fortunately, she was careful to wear gloves and dispose of the items before demanding a refund, which PetSmart was able to provide. Still, the fact that this happened at all was shocking to many Redditors.
“Do NOT touch that blood!! Who know what he could have!” exclaimed an individual. “Bro…. Biohazard ☣️,” remarked another. Some believe the driver might not have been aware that he was even bleeding. However, considering he put down the items and took a picture to verify the order was complete, there’s no way he didn’t see his own blood all over the delivery. Hopefully, the man’s alright, health-wise, but DoorDash definitely needs to have a word with him lest more customers receive bloody deliveries.
