Bad Bunny’s Tití Me Preguntó is a huge hit and was easily the highlight of the recent Super Bowl. However, not everyone is a fan of the song, as the US President Donald Trump himself has scathingly criticized the piece, mainly because he doesn’t understand the lyrics. Well, now one aspiring artist from Arkansas has stepped forward and finally translated the song, while still retaining its meaning and beat.

TikTok user gringocorridos from Benton, Arkansas, also known as Compa Lang, is the artist in question. Over the weekend, he posted the translated version of “Tití Me Preguntó” on his account. The post has since gained over 8.5 million views. Of course, the initial reaction was praise, as for many, it was perfect, “I don’t know how, you sang in English but I heard it in Spanish! It was perfect, the best I’ve ever seen!! I loved it!🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷 Graciasss,” according to a commenter, with another saying, “Finally a version I can understand 😂.”

For the record, Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl song was about a young man with many girlfriends, something lots of people appreciated, given how President Trump complained that he couldn’t understand. “If he dropped this in English. He would win another Grammy!!!” thinks another TikTok commenter. Apparently, Bad Bunny’s original version even had native Spanish speakers confused about the lyrics, “I’m literally a native spanish speaker. And this is the first time i’ve actually understood the song 😂.”

Not everyone was a fan, as usual

Like President Trump, however, not all viewers of the TikTok user’s translation of the song are fans. For some reason, several of the commenters say he should have kept it Spanish. Apparently, some eagle-eyed X users spotted negativity about the translation. One commenter stated that “This feels disrespectful,” while another claims “He’s mocking Bad Bunny.”

For many critics, as soon as they heard the lyrics, they thought the song was not that great, like one commenter, “Someone had to translate it. Well done. Bad Bunny’s lyrics are so weak, it’s actually embarrassing.” Regardless, Bad Bunny’s “Tití Me Preguntó,” especially the way it was presented, became an important cultural recognition for Puerto Rico, highlighting its many issues and resilience despite negligence from the US government.

Outside of the Super Bowl, Bad Bunny’s song sadly drew the ire of certain groups, particularly MAGA supporters and Super Bowl conservatives. Thankfully, that didn’t affect the reception to the Super Bowl LX halftime show, as eyewitness accounts have stated that it had a more lively crowd compared to TPUSA’s own halftime show.
