Ever since Trump took office, and even well before during Biden’s run, the big talk of the town was voter fraud and rigged elections. Now, many of the accusations lack hard proof or evidence, but something strange has been happening in Texas, and one concerned citizen is taking the time to warn others. Ahead of a crucial midterm election, a citizen claimed their voter registration had been purged and warned others to check their own status.
In a very straightforward but concerning Reddit thread, a user named sonicdv posted a message and a warning to other Texas residents. Check your voting status, as theirs was allegedly purged.
The caption read, “Trying to be as apolitical as possible about this but I just wanted to make sure that everybody here knows to check their status early just in case of… errors… like mine.” Of course, the warning’s subtext suggests some level of voter fraud or, at the very least, manipulation.
The warning and message sent other Texas locals into an uproar, as many went to check on the status of their voter registration, and many folks, far too many, seemed to have similar stories of their voter information being purged or their previous votes not counting.
One user said, “I still am but moving to Minnesota march 1. Good luck Texas.” Another Reddit user stated “Since I’ve moved back to Texas, they’ve refused to reinstate my voter registration because they typed my social security number in wrong even though it was correct on the paperwork and I kept a copy of the paperwork, then they canceled my registration after the last election.“
The reports didn’t end there, with some of the comments hinting at voter fraud that’s designed to help the Republicans, not the Democrats, which is a popular talking point of the current administration. “yeah me and my friend who is also a women got purged right before the last presidential election for “inactivity” despite having been consistently voting. Gee I wonder why that would be” said one user, while another said “I’m not sure why you are trying to be apolitical about voting, though. Especially with our current regime.” Lastly, another said, “Rampant voter fraud, unless it favors Republicans“.
As you can see, voter fraud is a hot topic that concerns many folks as the country heads into a very contentious midterm election cycle. Texas is a strong Republican stronghold, but it hasn’t stopped many from sputing conspiracy theories nonetheless. For now, it’s a good idea to check your voter registration.
