A woman in Florida is accusing a popular baby care brand of leaving sexual innuendos on the packaging of several of its products, claiming that they were sexualizing children. The woman, who says she is no longer a consumer of Frida Baby, posted a video on TikTok showing some of the controversial items sitting on the aisle of a Walmart, and it has pulled in more than 5 million views and over 200,000 likes.
One of the products she pulled was the Frida Baby Windi Gas Passer, which is listed on Amazon as a safe tool to help relieve gas and calm colic. It features a cartoon baby lying on its back with its feet raised and the phrase “Tap that gas.” Another item, the Frida Baby 3-in-1 Thermometer, carried the caption, “How about a quickie?”
In her caption, the woman wrote that she felt uncomfortable seeing such wording on hygiene products meant for children. She added that she had not paid close attention to the brand’s packaging in the past and had simply gone on to purchase whatever she needed. It was only after she recently spotted the suggestive phrases that she stopped buying from the brand and threw out the products she previously bought.
Netizens’ Reactions to the Florida Woman’s Video
In the comments, people were divided over whether the phrases were inappropriate. Some believed such wording should never appear on packaging tied to infants. “I’m literally shaking! Just threw out all of my Frida products,” one commenter shared. Another wrote, “They literally had absolutely no reason to do that.” A third said, “Pull FRIDA off the shelves!” while a fourth called it “Absolutely disgusting.”
However, not everyone agreed with the outrage. Some netizens argued that the packaging was intended as humor aimed at parents, not children. “It’s not that deep,” one comment read. Another person stated, “Babies cannot read. This is for the parent.” Someone else added, “Theyre not sexualizing your children 💀💀 theyre putting a joke on a package [sic].”
