Men fighting over land is a tale as old as time, and while next-door neighbors might not get mortally violent over property lines, many will go to great lengths to intimidate their rivals. In one Ohio neighbor’s case, he decided to install a camera on a tree directly facing the next-door couple’s home. If this wasn’t devious enough, he aimed the lens directly at the laundry room, where the two frequently changed their clothes. It’s freakish behavior, for sure, but the neighbor has also “taken pictures all over their property for awhile.”
Apparently, the reason why the nosy neighbor has been acting more aggressively is that he’s been doing a “complete renovation” of his property. However, the boyfriend of the couple next door told him not to cut down their trees, but he refused to comply and did so anyway. “So knowing that he’s already been taking pictures of my house is a little crazy. Then this camera,” the boyfriend groans, explaining the whole situation in a r/whatdoIdo post.
The noise from the renovation has also been a major issue for the couple. “They kick of construction at the ripe hour of 6 am,” OP explains. “I’ve not slept in what feels like weeks because of all this.” On top of that, he claims that someone, probably the neighbor, has been sneaking into their yard at night, banging on the house, and breaking into their crawl space. The boyfriend believes that this is all a ploy to force the couple to list their house for sale.
Many people in the comments suggested that OP stick something in front of the camera’s view so the neighbor couldn’t spy on them anymore. One person joked around, recommending he print out and stick the Epstein Files on the window facing the neighbor’s camera. “Republicans hate this one simple trick,” OP laughed in response. “It’s funnier because he said ‘I’m making the neighborhood great again’ and Ive never laughed so hard in my life.” That said, the boyfriend took the suggestions to heart and left an update saying, “Last night I just took a box spring out of my shed and rested it on the fence. 😂”
Eventually, the hostile neighbor paid to have a survey done on the property line, which, to his surprise, showed that the camera and the trees were within the couple’s land. “I bet neighbor is double pissed now that hes lost a little bit of land and failed to intimidate you lmao. Priceless,” remarked a commenter. This battle might have been won this time, but the couple will need to keep a close eye on this troublesome neighbor since he’s proven that he’s definitely up to no good.
