While the Royal Family definitely has a fair share of public shame recently, no small thanks to Andrew, humiliation and the Sussexes are still two words that go hand in hand. There’s certainly no shortage of things that Prince Harry or Meghan Markle have done within the past six months that many will point to as self-humiliation. Yet, one couple visiting Las Vegas found an exhibition that threw shade at the Duchess of Sussex by leaving her out completely from the list of “Royal Wives,” despite how Meghan feels about her status.
The Vegas exhibit in question is called “Princess Diana and the Royals: the Exhibition” and displays a collection of clothes the royals have worn, as well as a “wall of likenesses of the royal brides, including Fergie, Catherine Middleton, Diana, and Sophie.” Ironically and to no one’s surprise, there’s no Meghan Markle in sight. “Praise God. Lol,” laughs the wife visiting the exhibit.
Posting photos of Princess Diana and the Royals to r/SaintMeghanMarkle, the wife explained how Meghan was at the exhibition but was just on a “short little wall they had of Prince Harry.” Prince William and Kate Middleton also had their own display wall, albeit notably bigger than the Sussexes. Ironically, Sarah Ferguson, widely known as “Fergie,” is also included in the Royal Wives, but not Meghan. “Oof—that’s gonna sting,” remarks a Reddit commenter.
As a quick recap, Fergie is the former wife of the former Prince Andrew, good friend of Jeffrey Epstein. She’s currently gone to the Middle East in search of wealth and “respect,” according to Sky News Australia. Needless to say, she’s not going to find any in the UK, not from the general populace currently demanding more answers from King Charles and Prince William about Andrew. That said, the disgraced divorced wife of Andrew gets a spot among the Royal Wives in Vegas, while Meghan gets a small wall only because of her relationship to Harry.
That said, many online users feel Meghan Markle has no reason to ever be considered a royal, especially after that’s happened until now. “Meghan is an embarrassment to the whole world,” exclaims a Redditor. “I love that for her. No Wallis Simpson either. Glad to know they get where she ranks in the scheme of things lol,” laughs another. “Who bets this place will get an e-mail from one of Meghan’s ‘staff’ demanding why there was no exhibit about the duchess?” quips a third.
It wouldn’t be too far-fetched that Meghan would have her PR team do such a thing as contact the Las Vegas exhibit to “correct” it. Based on reports, many critics have already heard how she has staff announce her as “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex” or how she allegedly demanded outrageous security measures for a charity event. Whatever the case, though, it seems this Princess Diana and the Royals: the Exhibition is on the same page as everyone else when it comes to Meghan’s true status as a royal.
