A Georgia woman has been vocal about her journey leaving MAGA and how she has been deconstructing her perspectives. She posts regular updates on her TikTok channel and receives mixed reactions, with some offering support and others saying this doesn’t excuse her original support. The recent statement responds to comments on a video in which she was more visibly upset.
The video begins with her stating, “I’m aware that my tears have caused more harm to the people I have already harmed.” The Georgia woman didn’t know her tears could be harmful “until it was lovingly put in front of [her].” Despite the mixed reactions she has received, she remains “appreciative that it was made aware to [her].” She explains that she’s posting her journey online because she “wants to learn and be better.” She shares that she “[doesn’t] know if [she] would have received it well back then.”
The Georgia woman adds, “I do not need to cry and show shame for the harm that I have caused, because when I do that it causes further harm.” She explains that she doesn’t believe that “we have the time for some people to deconstruct over a decade.” Despite the previous video “spread[ing] like wildfire,” she’s grateful as “this has been an adjustment for [her].” She concludes, “I’m going to have to learn to be a better person every single day.” However, her openness has received mixed reactions.
