A heated confrontation outside a Chicago dance studio has gone viral after a video showed a couple yelling at children and throwing liquid at them as they left a class.
The incident reportedly happened near Belmont and Pulaski on Chicago’s Northwest Side. Families were leaving a Mexican folkloric dance class when a woman began shouting at them from above the entrance. In the video, the woman can be heard yelling, “You’re lucky ICE isn’t here,” as parents and kids gather outside the building.
Moments later, a man standing near her appears to throw cups of liquid down toward the group. Parents can be seen quickly ushering the children away, while others shout back in disbelief at what is happening.
Many of the dancers attending the class are young children, which made the situation even more alarming for families who were simply trying to leave after practice. Some witnesses said kids began crying as adults tried to get everyone safely to their cars.
The dance studio hosts folklorico classes that celebrate Mexican culture and bring together children from the surrounding community. Parents say the program has become an important outlet for kids to learn traditional dance and stay active after school.
Social Media Reacts to the Chicago Dance Studio Confrontation
After the clip began circulating online, viewers flooded the comments with reactions condemning the couple’s behavior toward the children.
“Imagine yelling something like that at kids leaving dance class. That’s absolutely disgusting,” one commenter wrote.
Another viewer said the situation should never have escalated the way it did. “If the noise bothers you that much, talk to the building manager. Don’t scream about ICE and throw drinks at children.”
Others were simply stunned by the confrontation. “Who does that to kids?” one person asked.
Some commenters also praised the parents for keeping their composure despite the situation. “The parents handled that way better than most people would have,” one viewer wrote.
Many people online said the video serves as another example of how quickly neighborhood disputes can spiral once cameras start rolling. For the families involved, however, the main concern remains making sure children attending the dance classes can leave safely without being targeted again.
