Another teacher in the US has recently become the target of outrage again after the educator ranted about President Donald Trump in his class in Ohio. One of his main talking points was how Trump apparently had the Iran bombing in mind decades ago, and that he was also allegedly responsible for firing missiles at an elementary school in Iran where hundreds of kids perished.
Scott Lane, a teacher at Steubenville High School in Ohio, is the man in question. Early in March 2026, Lane went viral after one of his students secretly recorded and uploaded one of his rants regarding Trump. In the video, you can hear Lane accusing the US government and Trump with his rant, “The first thing that the United States/US Military did was bomb a school,” during the start of the US and Israel’s offensive campaigns against Iran.
Lane was likely referring to the bombing of Minab school in Iran, where around 170 people (mostly school kids) reportedly died. The high school teacher then went on to reiterate how Trump is the “main character” in the Epstein files and how one page even points out how Trump wanted to bomb Iran if he ever felt “cornered.”
It’s not clear how long the rant went on or why one of the students recorded it, though many online have assumed that this rant took place in the middle of a class. Apparently, the teacher was speaking to many students. So far, Steubenville High School hasn’t responded to the outrage yet, though its Facebook page now has a couple of reviews criticizing the angry teacher.
The Teacher’s Rant Has Sparked an Online Debate
Like the latest reviews on Steubenville High School’s Facebook page, some of the initial reaction to Lane’s rant about Trump was a concern, particularly for the students. Some comments on X even argued, “The kid knew to record him, because you know this teacher rants like this to his students every day. 🙄” Another commenter claimed, “This. Is exactly why all of my grandchildren will be homeschooled!”
However, those calling for the high school teacher to be fired, assuming he was ranting in the middle of class hours, also met their own critics, with some siding with the educator. “You think the school is going to comment on one of their teachers speaking the truth?” argues a commenter, with another citing the First Amendment in the US to supposedly help Lane’s case, “Did he say anything that was inaccurate? Also, have you forgotten that we live in America and have free speech?”
