When you take your child to a daycare, there are various expectations placed concerning safety and the adults available at any given time. Children that young are curious, and it’s important to ensure that they are set up for success at all times. Unfortunately, one mother in Tennessee felt that her daughter’s daycare did the opposite of that.

What seems to be the most daunting about this is that she was only notified of the situation after another person brought it to her attention two days later. This mother then took to the social media platform TikTok to share exactly what happened, citing it as a ‘community safety issue.’

@skylareldridge

COMMUNITY SAFETY ISSUE My 2 year old daughter has attended Kids Korner Daycare here in jamestown since last August. I have trusted them with my child for 7 months. I have always thought that no matter what they would call me and notify me if something were to happen pertaining my daughter. On March 4th 2026 my daughter got out of the daycare building. I was not told, notified, nothing. I picked her up last Wednesday, the 4th, and it was another normal pick up. I sent my daughter to daycare Thursday, told nothing. I sent my daughter to daycare Friday, again told nothing. Around 11 am Friday morning, my only day off, I was cleaning my house getting ready for a busy weekend. I received a message on Facebook from Ashleigh Hill. She asked me to give her a call and sent her number. I called Ashleigh and was asked if I had a daughter with blonde hair and blue eyes that attended Kim Milashus daycare next to the highschool here in Jamestown. I said I did and she informed me that my daughter had been out roaming the parking lot all alone Wednesday afternoon. I immediately texted ashley nicole at the daycare asking if Stevie was asleep, knowing it was nap time for them, she said no that Stevie wasn’t having it today and I said I am on my way. When I got to the daycare I asked Ashley Nicole if Stevie had gotten out or been in the parking lot. Ashley said no that it was Kim milashuss grand daughter, Oakley. I assured Ashley Nicole that I knew if something were to happen with Stevie that I knew she would let me know. That is how much I truly trusted those people. I let Ashleigh hill know it wasn’t Stevie. She told me that she knew 100% it was my kid or she wouldn’t of messaged me to worry me. I called Matt Reynolds to tell him what was happening and he said we should call Kim milashuss since she is over the daycare she’d know for sure. We get Kim on the phone and she says no it was her granddaughter. In that same phone call after saying if it wasn’t Stevie why are we being told by someone we don’t really know it was. She said my daughter and her granddaughter look alike. Then that she could not 100% say Stevie was outside or not. She didn’t remember. We were told by Kim that there was just too much going on and with her adrenaline going it was a mad house and everything was crazy and she doesn’t know who was outside. Then also saying that oh she remember yes Stevie did go outside but only for a second because she walked out behind her while she was getting her granddaughter. Kim apologized and said sorry and cried. 19 minutes later I get a call from Britteny Pendergrass and Kim in the back ground crying there eyes out telling me that it was Stevie that was outside and they are so sorry. I said it was okay because it had already been two days and Stevie was in my care and fine but the situation is not okay. But asked why are you crying? This was two days ago at this point. If Ashleigh hill had not messaged me I would of had no idea of the true horror of my daughters whereabouts around 2pm on March 4th 2026. Matthew called the community center who do luckily have cameras outside while ironically the daycare does not. We were able to go today and watch the terrifying footage of our baby girl. Our daughter is not a normal 2 year old. Stevie attends speech therapy on momdays, occupational therapy on Wednesdays and developmental therapy on Fridays. She does this weekly. Our daughter does not communicate like a normal child her age. I have made the daycare very aware of Stevie’s struggles with communication and socialization skills. Today we watched a 16 minute long video of our helpless two year old baby girl come outside unoticed by her teachers Brittney Pendergrass and Ashley Nicole who were over her room. She stayed outside for 16 minutes, 2 of those 16 minutes Stevie is out in the parking lot of the community center while high schoolers are walking by her driving around. She attempts to go back in multiple different times through the side door

Mother and TikTok user Skylar Eldridge typically posts to the social media platform videos of her life and children. While this video focuses on her children, it involves some serious allegations against a daycare in Jamestown, Tennessee. She claims that she had not been notified of her two-year-old daughter wandering off into the parking lot of the Kids Korner Daycare, despite it happening nearly two days before it was brought to her attention.

The video’s caption paints an even larger picture, explaining that she received a Facebook message from someone who asked if Skylar had a blonde daughter with blue eyes. After confirming, she was then told that her daughter Stevie had been roaming the parking lot for several minutes unsupervised two days before. According to Skylar, there was a lot of back and forth between her and the school concerning the identity of the girl wandering the parking lot before it was finally discovered to be Stevie.

Skylar then went to the school to view a 16-minute clip of Stevie wandering the parking lot while “high schoolers are walking by her driving around.” It goes on to explain that Stevie struggles with communication and has socialization skills, requiring her to attend speech therapy, occupational therapy, and developmental therapy; information all of which was allegedly relayed to the daycare.

Tennessee Mom Shocked To Discover Toddler Wandered Into Daycare Parking Lot

The video gives more context to what happened after Skylar arrived to pick up her daughter the day she found out about what happened. She brought her partner, Matthew, who was reportedly the one who was able to secure the aforementioned security footage. You can see him collect Stevie’s things while Skylar speaks to the teachers and supervisors.

Commenters quickly jumped into the comments, with one person commending her partner’s behavior, saying, “What a MAN!!!! Held it together for his family. He took the lead and stepped in front of his wife. I can’t imagine the overload of emotions going thru this mama. I’m shaking hearing your voice.” Others were more shocked at the teacher’s actions throughout, with another person saying, “As a daycare teacher you count kids CONSTANTLY!!!! As a certified teacher, I still do. This is insane.“

Skylar mentions having removed Stevie from the program, and it is hoped that the situation doesn’t repeat itself at a different daycare.
