These days, the antics of aggressive cost-cutting go beyond being annoying. They have become ludicrous. A woman from Brooklyn, New York, exposed the skimping on snacks on a Delta flight.

In a video that has since gone viral, garnering over 100,000 views on TikTok, the woman exposed the snack scam without speaking. In a dramatic sequence, she turned the snack bag, which was Cheez-It crackers, to the camera and then took her time opening it. At first glance, it seemed like the snack bag was empty, but when she searched carefully, three measly pieces were hiding deep down in a corner. “So hungry, happy @delta gave me these delicious @cheez-it to enjoy,” she wrote sarcastically, tagging the official handles of the airline and the snack company.

Internet Reacts to Tiny Delta Snack

Reactions came pouring immediately from netizens after the clip hit the internet. “Shrinkflation has reached the skies. Airlines already charge you for bags, seats, breathing- now they’re giving you three crackers and calling it a snack. The race to the bottom continues,” one user wrote. “Air travel has genuinely become one of the worst experiences when it used to be one of the best. Every flight now has some sort of delay or issue,” another added. “Just give people nothing. That empty bag is an insult,” someone noted. “And yet your non-refundable seat with no wifi or leg room cost $45,322.82 and will earn you 24 mileage points,” another mockingly added.

One netizen said, “Airlines operate on razor-thin margins. I get it. But, when the product starts feeling like a prank, you’ve crossed the line from efficiency into parody.” Some TikTokers pointed out the ecological impact of the entire thing: “Seriously, save all the trash. It is pathetic what they give now. I would be embarrassed. Remember when we had warm meals on a 2.5-hour flight?” Another chimed in, “These companies need to be fined for so much waste.”

More comments about the viral situation rolled in with a netizen comparing airline operations to “communism,” writing, “Only a few get the good seats. No middle class. Rationed food. Oppressive rules. Controlled by the government, etc.” One user asked, “With record-high ticket prices, is the margin on three crackers really worth this kind of viral bad PR?” One remark read, “Airlines discovered they can serve you basically nothing and you’ll still fly because what are you gonna do, drive to Europe? That Cheez-its bag is a power move disguised as customer service.”

A few TikTokers turned to sarcasm. “One during takeoff, one mid-flight, one during landing. Take 3 as prescribed,” one joked. “I think you burned more calories opening the packaging and eating than you get from those crackers,” a second one jested. One user wrote, “Rationing during war times, I see.”

The clip quickly spread across TikTok, sparking debate about airline cost-cutting and shrinking in-flight perks.
