Crimson Desert features one of the best and most expansive skill trees in any modern action adventure games. And since there are several slick abilities behind it, players might want to obtain skill points as soon as possible, which can only be obtained through Abyss Artifacts. The great thing about these items is that obtaining them is easy, especially if you know what to do. So, if you want to get your wrestling moves ready or maybe increase your characters’ stats, here we’ll tell you how to get Abyss Artifacts in Crimson Desert.

As we mentioned above, the only way to obtain skill points in Crimson Desert is via Abyss Artifacts. Since there are so many skills in the game, active and passive, you’ll need to find as many of these items as possible, but the great thing is that obtaining them isn’t that hard or tedious.

  • Completing quests
    • The easiest way to obtain Abyss Artifacts is by completing quests, mainly some faction ones and main story objectives. You’ll always end up getting a couple of them from completing a chapter and defeating a boss. However, if you stick to the main story only, you will have a hard time unlocking every skill.
  • Restoring the Abyss
    • After opening the Abyss, which happens in the tutorial, you can start exploring these floating islands. Connecting some of them will always reward you with one Abyss Artifact. Keep in mind that some of them require you to access the Abyss through places around Pywell, such as the many spires found across the game’s different regions.
  • Filling your Abyss bar
    • Well, it is unclear if it is called the Abyss bar, but we’re rolling with it, as it sounds cool. You’ll see at the bottom left corner of your map a bar that fills up after you defeat an enemy. Each time you fill this bar, you’ll get one Abyss Artifact, meaning that you can farm them indefinitely if that’s what you want. We don’t recommend it, though, as it can take a while to fill it, but some story missions will pit you against dozens of enemies, so you’ll be getting several Artifacts without even realizing.
  • Complete puzzles
    • Almost every puzzle you find on the map will reward you with an Abyss Artifact. Some are pretty simple, while a couple might require a specific skill or Abyss Part. But if you see one, just make sure to solve it to get your Artifact and a fast travel point while you’re at it.
  • Find them around the map
    • If you use your sword shine, you can follow the golden or blue light. The former will always lead you to an Abyss Artifact, while the latter can take you to an Artifact, fast travel point, or puzzle. Keep in mind that the Abyss Artifacts you find on the map will be sealed, and you need to complete a challenge to get the actual Artifact. You can check the challenges via your journal or by inspecting the Sealed Artifact.

The truth is that getting Abyss Artifacts in Crimson Desert isn’t that hard, especially since there are many options to do so. Now, you might be thinking that you’ll be swimming in skill points, but that’s not the case. Characters do not share the skill point pool, meaning that you need to do some fighting and exploring with each of the playable cast members.

Still, we prefer this system over the usual level-up we see in RPGs, as it rewards combat, exploration, and a lot of puzzle-solving, making the skill point-earning process extremely engaging and quite fun. Also, remember that you can reset your skill tree at any time, provided you have Faded Abyss Artifacts, so keep those in your inventory as well in case you want to try out new abilities.
