Crimson Deserts Wraps Up Its Spotlights By Showcasing the Cozy Side of Pywell

And to wrap it all up

We all know that all good things must come to an end, and in this case, we’re referring to the Crimson Desert features overview, as Pearl Abyss premiered the “Life on Pywell” showcase today. However, it isn’t bitter news as the spotlights might have ended, but all of us now know that Crimson Desert isn’t just flashy visuals and wrestling moves; it is a living and breathing world full of interactable elements, in-depth systems, and a surprisingly cozy side that will take open-world immersion to the next level.

In case you missed the video, I encourage you all to stop what you’re doing because the “Life in Pywell” showcase really elevates everything we’ve seen about Crimson Desert so far. Instead of focusing on combat or exploration, it delves more into the lighthearted and cozy side of the game, including base-building, character customization, and several other activities that don’t require you to smash foes with your shield.

First, we got to see the Greymane camp, which has in-depth base-building mechanics, including placing furniture, preparing meals before going out to explore, and even cultivating ingredients you’ll use in your meals. You can even dispatch some of your clan members on missions, so they bring currency or materials for several activities in the game. They can even help you reduce the strength of some enemy camps, which seems will make your encounters a bit easier.

We also got to see several towns and villages, the trading menus, and a few side quests we might find in these areas. By the looks of it, the quest lineup looks quite varied, with some featuring the usual bounty hunting-like quests and even some involving mini-games. However, the big surprise is the law system, as it seems we’ll be able to get into trouble if we perform illegal actions, such as harassing NPCs. And yes, it seems the law of Pywell doesn’t play around.

And now, for the fashion aficionados out there, Pywell is all about the looks, as Crimson Desert will bring an in-depth customization system for your outfits and even hairstyles. We already saw that you can change the colors of your armor, and even your horse armor. Also, Kliff and the other playable characters seem to have different styles and armor options, so it seems the true endgame will be fashion, and we’re excited for that.

In truth, Crimson Desert looks like a dream come true for open-world fans. While we all knew its map would be huge and combat would be highly engaging, we were not expecting this level of immersion. It’s a bit sad that the features overview series is over, but these videos were more than enough to convince us that Pywell will be one of the most memorable locations we’ve seen in an open-world RPG. All that remains is waiting for the game’s imminent release.
