A woman in Springfield, Missouri, found it weird that her then-husband was so secretive and protective regarding his computer. Alone, she claimed she discovered thousands of disturbing images and videos on his computer, and she immediately called the police. She was married to a “PDF file,” she said.
Sherry Jackson detailed this chilling story on TikTok. She went straight to the point, saying, “I was married to a PDF file.” The discovery occurred back in May 2022, around the time that Josh Duggar was sentenced to 12 years in prison for receiving and possessing child pornography. Sherry recalled telling her husband about the sentencing, but she found her reaction lukewarm, to say the least.
“I can’t explain honestly what made it seem so off to me,” the Missouri woman said. “But I guess in my head I thought he’d have a more visceral reaction.“
Sherry ruminated on her husband’s reaction while he went away for a New York wedding. He went by himself, as their children are disabled, and she said that he was “embarrassed” by them.
During that time, Sherry got into her head that her then-husband was cheating on her. Therefore, she decided to “snoop” on his computer, not realizing she was about to discover something that would change their lives forever.
After detailing that she wasn’t allowed to touch his stuff, including his computer, Sherry successfully logged in. The first thing she found? According to her, a very graphic picture of a little girl.
At that shocking moment, Sherry’s only thought was pretty clear. She said, “I had to make sure my kids weren’t on that computer.”
Husband Arrested, Reaction, Legal Battle
Remembering Josh Duggar’s trial, Sherry recalled how he partitioned his computer to store the illegal material. Since she took some computer classes, Sherry claimed she found her ex-husband’s “secret file.”
“When I found that file, it was filled with images and videos,” the Missouri woman alleged. “We’re talking 2000+ images and videos.”
Sherry immediately called the police, and NCIS was contacted shortly after, given that her husband was with the Marines. She revealed she did call her husband, calling it a “dumb” move, but authorities instructed her to disconnect her internet, fearing that he could remotely delete the files.
Users were shocked by her story, applauding her for calling the police. One user said, “Thank you for tuning him in.” Another commenter wrote, “So proud of you for listening to your gut and calling the police.” A third netizen commented, “Your intuition was off the charts! Thank you for protecting children!“
In a GoFundMe, Sherry revealed that she successfully protected her children after a grueling 2-year custody battle. The kids, however, no longer want to carry their father’s last name. This requires another legal battle to terminate her ex-husband’s parental rights, and all funds raised will cover her legal and filing fees.
