A California streamer is facing backlash after a video surfaced showing her confronting an elderly couple on a public sidewalk, with critics accusing her of unnecessary hostility and entitlement. The streamer, identified as Bonnie Rabbit, was filming herself and her group while walking when the incident occurred.
In the video, Bonnie Rabbit and her friends are seen moving along a sidewalk when they come across an elderly couple walking at a slower pace. The pair appeared to be strolling casually, occupying part of the path. Rather than navigating around them or waiting briefly, Bonnie Rabbit addressed the couple directly, telling them to move out of the way.
As the sidewalk widened, the streamer and her group moved past the couple and briefly went in a different direction. However, the interaction did not end there. Bonnie Rabbit continued speaking loudly to her camera, making remarks about the elderly couple and suggesting that they were intentionally blocking her path. At no point did she appear to lower her voice, despite being within close proximity of the couple.
The situation escalated further when both groups converged again near a table along the sidewalk. The elderly couple had paused in the area, and as the California streamer’s group approached, the couple began to leave. Despite this, Bonnie Rabbit reignited the confrontation, audibly questioning why the couple had been “in her way,” even as they were already moving off.
California Streamer Sparks Backlash
The footage quickly spread online, drawing widespread criticism. Many viewers argued that the California streamer’s reaction was disproportionate, noting that the couple appeared to be minding their own business and moving at a normal pace for their age. Critics said Bonnie Rabbit could have easily passed without confrontation and instead chose to escalate the situation for content.
“I feel so bad for the old couple, like they were going at their pace, plenty of room to pass, they passed, went back toward the old couple, and still harassed them,” one user wrote.
Some observers also pointed out that the California streamer seemed to re-engage with the couple after already passing them, interpreting this as an attempt to prolong the interaction. Others argued that her comments suggested a sense of entitlement to public space, particularly in how she framed the couple’s presence as an obstruction.
The incident has also reignited discussion about the behavior of online personalities in public settings. Several users referenced past controversies involving the California streamer, including a previous situation where she was criticized for failing to thank a stranger who returned a personal item she had dropped. According to those critics, such moments point to a pattern of dismissive or inconsiderate behavior.
