A woman living in a Massachusetts apartment has allegedly been messing with the complex’s shared washing machines, making many in the complex upset with her. Not only has she placed her own “out of order” signs on the machines, but she’s also unplugged while other tenants’ laundry was still washing. One renter, who found this neighbor’s behavior more than insufferable, shared his predicament on r/Apartmentliving, where thousands expressed their support.

Going by the username Academic-Ad4060, the distressed tenant shared a screenshot from the apartment’s landlord, calling out the woman for wrongfully fiddling with the washing machines. Allegedly, she’s had conflicts with several of the tenants and has messed with the hallway doors in retaliation. “This last thing with laundry just really got the whole apartment complex frustrated now with her,” Academic-Ad4060 explains.

As to why this woman is so determined to keep people from doing their laundry, the tenant explains: “Apparently, the sound of the machines disturbs her since she shares a wall with the laundry room, so she feels she can unplug them even if they are in use.” During private discussions about evicting her, some claim it isn’t possible because she’s a Section 8 tenant. “My question is what can we do to make this lady stop,” Academic-Ad4060 says, asking Reddit for suggestions.

Reddit Suggested Camping Out in the Laundry Room or Setting Up Cameras

One recommendation that multiple highly upvoted comments suggested was to be present in the laundry room while washing clothes to catch the woman in the act. “You can sit in the laundry room while doing your laundry and keep her from said ‘sabotage,’” said a commenter.

Others mentioned speaking to the landlord about camera surveillance, while some shared some rather mischievous ways to get back at the woman for her pettiness. “Who is this super dedicated petty person?” laughed a Redditor. On the other hand, many users warned OP to take caution when interacting with her since he’s “not dealing with a reasonable person.”

The tenant claimed that the woman “purposely swerved her car to hit” one of the neighbors in the parking lot, all because she “hates him so bad.” If this story is true, the situation might be beyond petty annoyances, and the authorities might need to get involved for people’s safety, as one commenter advises.
