A video shared by a Louisiana-based TikTok creator and book author is drawing backlash online after the woman posed a question that many netizens found both shocking and controversial. In the clip, she asks, “Do men deserve rights?” before going on to explain why she believes society may need to rethink how they are distributed.

According to her, realistically, her answer would be no. She argued that men are “not capable of being responsible” with their rights and would find them too much to handle. “They have all of these rights. It’s very clear that they don’t need all of [them],” she said.

The woman suggested creating a point system in which men would gradually earn rights over time based on their level of responsibility, emotional and financial stability, and ability to care for themselves and others. “You start out with a zero, and then just like a toddler growing into an adult to move out their house, you get a little bit,” she said.

The video has since drawn thousands of views and was also posted to her other social media accounts.

Netizens React to the Louisiana Woman’s Video

In the comment section, many viewers were outraged by the woman’s post. “This is the definition of sexism… you are a great example of why the gender wars are happening,” one person said. “All people deserve rights no matter the gender, race or religion,” another wrote. A third commented, “We’re all people yo, oppression isn’t the answer to oppression.” A fourth warned, “This is dangerous rhetoric.”

Some also brought up race in relation to the remarks, with one netizen writing, “White woman saying this btw,” and another asking, “Why do you want to take rights away from black men?”

Not all reactions were critical, however. One commenter appeared to agree with her and wrote, “This is on ALL of our minds.”

So far, the TikToker, who has a large following of over 400,000, does not appear to be fazed by the negative responses and has continued posting her usual content.
