A man riding a New York City Subway sparked outrage online after recording himself threatening another passenger during an argument over loud music being played through a speaker. The confrontation reportedly escalated after another rider asked the man to turn the speaker off. During the incident, the man made violent threats, including saying he would cut the other passenger’s face open.

The New York City Subway incident video quickly spread across several social media platforms and gained major attention online. On Reddit, the clip was reposted to r/PublicFreakout, where it received more than 7,000 upvotes and over 1,000 comments. The footage also circulated on X, where it reportedly gained more than 100,000 views along with hundreds of likes and comments.

In the video, the man can be seen filming himself while angrily ranting about another New York City Subway passenger who had allegedly asked him to turn off his speaker. Throughout the clip, the cameraman repeatedly curses at the passenger and complains about being told what to do on the train.

The other subway passenger remains noticeably calm during the confrontation and mostly focuses on reading a book while sitting in his seat. As the situation becomes more tense and the cameraman moves closer while continuing to yell, the passenger eventually stands up and quietly moves to another part of the train car.

At one point in the video, the cameraman attempts to get support from a nearby woman by speaking to her directly while still recording. However, the woman instead asks not to be filmed. The request appears to anger the man further, leading him to yell at her and tell her to mind her own business.

New York Subway Video Sparks Outrage Online

Many viewers online criticized the man’s behavior and described the confrontation as disturbing and unnecessary. Several users pointed out the contrast between the calm passenger quietly reading his book and the cameraman aggressively shouting throughout the train car. “The juxtaposition of a psycho yelling and screaming after being challenged for socially inconsiderate behavior versus a dude with a book is just too good,” one user wrote.

Other commenters mocked the cameraman for trying to get strangers to agree with him and failing when nearby passengers refused to support his actions. Some users also questioned why the man believed people would take his side while he was openly threatening and insulting others on camera.

A large number of commenters additionally criticized the use of loud Bluetooth speakers on public transportation, arguing that headphones should be used instead to avoid bothering other passengers. “This is crazy. Barely any interaction with anyone on that train, just two minutes of this dude pissing himself off. This guy is a ticking time bomb,” another user wrote.

It remains unclear whether police were ever called to deal with the aggressive man on the New York subway. However, many internet users said the confrontation felt deeply unsettling and could have easily turned even more dangerous.
