We see several things on Reddit daily that tend to spark discussion among those using the platform. However, some cause a huge debate because certain topics touch on different issues, prompting people to agree or disagree. An example of this happened not long ago when a Redditor posted a tier list of some cities in Connecticut. While some people agreed with the person’s rankings, a few others weren’t too happy, with people either jumping to defend their cities, agree with the statement, or even ask what the reasoning behind the rankings was in the first place.
The tier list from some Connecticut cities comes from Redditor lynxgirlpaws, who posted on the state’s subreddit. Here, you can see several important cities in the state ranked in different spots. New Haven seems to be at the top of it, followed by South Norwalk and Mystic in A Rank, cities like Bridgeport, Milford, and New London in B Rank, and Waterbury, all the way at the lowest point of the tier list. Of course, there are many more cities in it, so we attached the original image above.
While several Redditors thought this was just a ragebait post made by the user to probably trigger people living in a particular city or town, the big surprise was that some residents agreed with a few of the rankings, while others criticized the tier list entirely.
Connecticut City Tier List Sparks Huge Debate on Reddit
The above tier list caused a debate among several Connecticut residents, with some jumping in to defend their cities and a few others to actually agree with the OP.
“Why is Stamford catching strays out here?“
“Since when is Bridgeport B-tier? 😔
Ironically, several other users agreed with one statement, and that was that Waterbury is at the lowest of the tier list, and worst of all, it has its own category.
“Waterbury should be lower on the list.“
“Waterbury is exactly in its place.“
In the end, it seems that the tier list was made as a lighthearted post in the subreddit, but it somehow ended up sparking discussions that were pretty well justified, and a few others that were just joking about everyone’s city.
A few other Redditors noted that there were some missing cities from the list and that OP should have been clearer when it came to explaining what the list was for. Yet, it seems many engaged in some friendly discussion, and things didn’t get out of hand.
