Election activity in Los Angeles is drawing increased attention as candidates work to secure voter support. While some campaigns appear to be gaining momentum, others have faced mixed public reactions online. In one Reddit post, a Traci Park campaign sign was shown inside a garbage bin, prompting a wave of commentary, with some users joking that more signs should be placed there.
A photo posted on Reddit by user “CurbYerGod” shows a Traci Park campaign sign in California, where the Los Angeles City Council candidate is currently running. In addition to the standard campaign messaging, the sign appears to have been placed in a garbage bin and marked with graffiti, including what look like critical comments directed at local officials.
In most cases, removing or tampering with campaign signs is considered illegal. However, in this instance, many Reddit users reacted differently, with some responding positively to the image and jokingly suggesting that more campaign signs should be discarded as well.
California Voters Believe More Signs Belong in the Trash
According to those in the Los Angeles subreddit, there are more signs that should go in the trash, especially some signs belonging to candidates who’ve stood out in the race lately.
“Can you add more signs, please?“
“Let’s add the Chad Bianco signs in there as well.“
And while some Redditors chimed in with the names of other candidates, such as Spencer Pratt, a few other users shared a word of caution, as vandalizing signs is never a good idea, regardless of who the candidate is.
“Removing signs is technically ‘election interference,’ and the right-wing members (or more importantly, their corporatist financiers) are absolutely vindictive enough to press charges.“
Despite the reactions surrounding the campaign sign, Traci Park remains one of the leading candidates in the race, alongside Faizah Malik, with both candidates presenting different approaches and priorities for the city and the districts they aim to represent.
As the election approaches, similar incidents may draw increased attention online. However, some Reddit users also caution against tampering with or defacing campaign signs, noting that such actions could carry legal consequences.
