Clashes surrounding ICE protests have continued to escalate across the United States in recent weeks, with demonstrations erupting in several cities over immigration enforcement operations. Now, a tense video filmed outside Delaney Hall in Newark, New Jersey appears to show ICE agents pushing protesters toward oncoming traffic during a confrontation, sparking backlash and fierce debate across social media.

The video, filmed outside Delaney Hall from a witness’s point of view, shows a chaotic confrontation unfolding between protesters and ICE agents near a roadway where a large truck is moving through the area.

In the footage, several individuals can be seen scuffling with officers in the street as the situation quickly escalates. At one point, an ICE agent appears to forcefully push a protester close to the path of the truck’s moving tires, a moment that has drawn particular concern from viewers online due to how dangerous it looks.

An ICE agent armed with a baton-like weapon can also be seen striking protestors and telling the, “Get back, get back!” while media use their cameras to photograph and film as the situation unfolds. Near the end of the footage, a protester is seen lying on the ground after the confrontation, appearing to have been injured during the scuffle.

According to local reports, the protest began over the weekend and was allegedly a show of support for the 300 immigrant detainees who are carrying out a hunger and labor strike. ICE agents were seen physically engaging with protesters in the immediate area, including attempts to restrain and move individuals aside as they worked to push ICE vehicles through a crowded scene. Senator Andy Kim, a Democrat from New Jersey, was also present at the protest and was reportedly caught up in the confrontation, with accounts indicating he was exposed to defensive spray during the commotion.

Online Backlash and Debate Follows

The clip has triggered a wide range of reactions online, with many users criticizing what they describe as dangerous conduct by ICE agents during the tense protest.

On Reddit, one user expressed surprise at the lack of recent visibility around ICE-related incidents, writing that “I literally haven’t heard about the ICE [expletive] in so long I thought they finally gave up. But I guess the news has done a good job of silencing it because I haven’t seen a single thing somehow in months about it. Nope still alive and unfortunately well.” The comment reflects the user’s personal perception that coverage of such incidents has been limited in recent months.

Another commenter took a more politically charged stance, claiming “Billionaires own all social media, they’re suppressing anti ICE posts.” The remark appears to reflect broader concerns among some users about platform influence and content visibility, though it remains an unverified opinion expressed online.

A third user asked for clarification on the location of the incident, with the original poster responding that it took place “earlier today at the Delaney Hall” facility in Newark, New Jersey.

On the whole, the footage and the wave of online reactions have intensified scrutiny over how the situation was handled on the ground. Many viewers say the scenes appear to show an unnecessarily aggressive response in an already volatile protest environment, raising concerns about escalation and public safety near moving traffic and a crowded roadway. As the video continues to circulate, it has left a growing sense of unease among critics who argue that law enforcement conduct in moments like these deserves closer public examination and accountability.
